Convenient hotel close to seafront. Goid value.

Posted 25-Oct-2016 on Hotels
My brother and I were up in Blackpool for the weekend and booked this hotel on a number of factors - it met every expectation and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay close to the seafront (about 10 minutes walk). The full English breakfast (included) was a excellent way to start the day.

Pros: Good Location , car parking , friendly staff and good breakfast
Cons: Sort the damp/smell problems to down stairs rooms . repair rotten floor in shower rooms . New mattresses so you don't feel every spring update decor
Location: Good location 15 min walk to tower
The staff was help full and friendly arrived mid morning and parked car up at hotel , checked to make sure it was ok to leave the car there and was told if we could wait 15 min are room would be ready . The ground floor rooms had a damp fusty smell .The cleanliness of the rooms was so-so ( would not pass a white glove test ) Bedroom had dated decor , which in it self would not be a problem for me but had very small shower room with rotten floor , toilet was lob sided due to the rot and a mattress you could feel every spring in . A good breakfast was serviced . its a hotel i will not forget but for all the wrong reasons

We didn't enjoy the breakfast the room hadn't been cleaned there was cigarette ash on the window sill and the shower was dirty the owner failed to tell us about a water problem in blackpool the hotel smelt of dogs and the owner cooking breakfast had bad body odour this should not be a 3 star

Get what you pay for

No hot water at night. Minimal water for shower. Decor dated & shower area cracked & chipped. Bed hard & uncomfortable & pillows were so hard I ended up with sore neck & shoulders. Breakfast could have been okay but we asked for scrambled egg, bacon & toast for TWO & we ended up with scrambled egg & dry toast - no bacon (for 1) & my son didn't even get his breakfast!!

Very dated

Posted 12-Jan-2014 on Hotels
The hotel was extremely dated, with florals in both scent as well as wallpaper. There were holes in the en suite bathroom shower which were a bit off putting. Decent sized room though it was quite cold with the noise of pipes constantly. The breakfast was small which was good for me, and unsatisfying for my friend, but it was quite poor quality and very greasy.

Lovely Man

What can I say, a one night stay, Alan and his team could not have been more hospitable and friendly. The general look of the hotel is a little run down, the room we stayed in was damp and fusty smelling and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The beds need bringing up to the twentieth century, oh my back! Alan deserves a better review than this for his kindness and faboulous breakfast, its just the rooms, maybe I was unlucky. Sorry Alan
