Comfortable friendly hotel with a great breakfast

Posted 21-Jan-2017
Pros: The breakfast buffet was a winner to me.
Cons: Sushi on the bar menu.
Location: On the ocean but in January it was freezing cold and out of season so we didn't venture outside.
Stayed for a few days and had nothing but pleasant experiences. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Everyone that worked there was friendly and accommodating. Room had a view of the cold Irish sea but looked great from my cozy room. Bar was great too. Tough to find a fault with the place but I'm pretty easily pleased.

Lovely hotel recently updated

Posted 01-Nov-2016
Visited with our grandchildren age 3yrs & 6 yrs. Family Room with King Bed for us and a bunk bed for the children. Recently refitted, good sea view, very comfortable and suited our needs. Excellent bathroom with walk in shower. Hotel is excellent for families and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good indoor pool too. Hotel is easy walk along the prom to Golden Mile, or opposite the tram stop if you want to ride.

Too few staff on desk at booking in time.

Posted 30-Oct-2016
There was only 2 people on the reception desk and at times only 1. I had to queue to book in initially. The room allocated to us did not have sea view as advertised. The carpet in the room was badly stained as though someone had been sick. I queued again to ask for a different room, which took longer as the elderly couple in front of me were becoming irate with their complaint. Was told family rooms did not have sea views. We were allocated a new room but no offer was made to transfer our luggage. We moved rooms and I returned room keys having queued again and requested beds be made up in new room. Just felt the staff approach was like the hotel and in need of invigoration. The swimming pool was very small, very crowded and no management of guests jumping in. The changing rooms were even smaller, my wife and 2 daughters had to dress over their wet costumes to get back to the room due to lack of room. Can't comment on any other facilities as wasn't prepared to risk food and drink etc.

Great but very busy.

Posted 28-Oct-2016
Location: Excellent location as 10/15 minute walk to the Tower.
Enjoyable stay other than the excessive wait to check-in and check-out, also the lifts were not very reliable. However everything else would be what I expect from a hotel of this grade.

Nearly full rating.... easy fixes to be top rated

Posted 22-Oct-2016 on Hotels
I would love to have given a full 5 stat rating but couldn't because of the issues with lifts in operation. At one point there was only 1 lift and 2 at the most. For the amount of guests it was very inconvenient and a few times me my wife and 3 kids had to wait multiple times as there was no room and we even resorted to doing 6 flights of stairs at one point after 2 full lifts! Staff are a 6 out of 5. Every single member of staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and so too was the service. Some areas of the hotel were a bit tired and in need of refresh. All in all I'd still come back to stay again because at least you know what you are getting as opposed to many of the hotels in Blackpool.

Not a Hilton! Stayed in a Hilton before and loved the quality but this was more of a budget hotel
