Grand it isnt!

Posted 26-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Had a one night stay 15 October 2015. It wasn't the greatest. I booked a premier sea view room which was a lovely size and it did have a sea view. The duvet cover was torn, something I didn't notice until I got into bed, the carpet I'm not sure when it was last hovered and the black leather effect chair was covered in grey hairs. On check in I arrived at about 1:30 pm and was told I could do the paperwork but wouldn't be allowed to check in until 2pm. The girl on reception was pleasant but not full of information. On Thursday evening I asked if I could get a meal and was curtly told we don't do food, I could bring it in but I couldn't eat it in the massive lounges I would have to go to my room. The lifts have not been cleaned I am sure in about 20 years and the carpets all need changed as they are not fitted to the floor and they are covered in stains. This is a definite trip hazard and as the hotel is full of elderly and disabled really needs to be addressed quickly. car parking is only £3 for overnight, but you may not be able to get a space and many people just abandon their cars and go off into town which is not helpful and the hotel can do nothing to stop this (so they say!). I did read all the reviews for here but decided to chance it as it was somewhere I always wanted to stay, but have now been there, done that, not do it again. Sorry this is poor but I am struggling to find nice things to say.

Tour Of Illuminations Visit

This hotel is centrally located, perfect for my purposes. However, it had problems. One of them is the layout of the building. The floors were split-level, and it took me a long time to find my room, because the signage was bad. The breakfast was good, but not included in the price. The price, however, was reasonable. The staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. They rescued an item of mine containing medication that I had left at the front desk inadvertently. The only wi-fi available was on the ground floor. It quit working after a half hour, so was basically useless.

Worst hotel I've ever stopped in

Posted 05-Oct-2015 on Hotels
It was awful.would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.£139 for a Saturday night!!! Do not encourage them.£50 would be too much.Am sure in its day it was lovely but it's very tired now.I accepted the third room I was offered as it was getting on in time 4.30 ( because of ques at reception for same thing and keys not working )and we were only there a night. I could go on !!! Felt sorry for Janet the receptionist

Pros: Location and parking
Cons: Hotel needs pulling down and rebuilt. It is totally dilapidated.
Location: god location in the heart of Blackpool
Our room was the size of a postage stamp. It was very old, battered with a bed (double) only about big enough for one person. but is was the only way we could be squeezed into this room. No air, no opening windows, no soap. We had to ask three times for soap. Because of the lack of air we had to go out to by a fan to create a bit of movement of air.
