"7 Very clean room , lots of parking is safe area"

"First I would say the front desk on arrival very friendly and no surprises. Room was comfortable, quiet, clean. Coffee in the room, mini fridge. Dinner was just ok. Breakfast was bad. Waitress didn't seem to like her job, toast cold, hash browns old and refried. They have a spa and pool but we never used them. All in all, $400 for 2 nights, we wil be going elsewhere."

"I don't know where to begin when talking about how wonderful our stay was! The hosts answered my emails within the same day. Everything was just perfect. We enjoyed the ride up the well manicured driveway to the cabin. Someone obviously takes care of the lawn, flowers, and bushes year round. As a graduate of App (class of '93) I appreciated the safety features built into the driveway to prevent vehicles from sliding on snow and ice. The inside was quaint and very cabin-like, but with modern upgrades. The log walls, wood floors, furniture and decorations all fit the image of a cabin in the woods. The marble counters, steam filter in the bathroom, stone and tile definitely added a luxurious touch. Every place I needed a plug, one was there. Everything was neatly labelled, and the roomy closets were fully stocked for winter evenings. The fireplace and the fire pit were both stocked with the varying types of wood needed to build a fire. The floorboards were clean, unscuffed, and dust free - even in the corners! The fans were silent, and the windows slid up and down with ease. There were even hooks for shorter people to pull down the shades. Every detail had been thought of and taken care of. We are very much looking forward to a girls' weekend in the fall."

"The hotel was in the middle of a remodeling project in the foyer, dinning area, main desk and outside. Dust, dirt, debris and noise was bad. The pool was unusable as well as the surrounding area. Very dirty! There was no hot breakfast for the 2 days we were there. Just cold stuff. Staff did the best they could under the circumstances. "

"Not very safe, older stairs to climb to get to very crowded room full of old large desk, table and chair with no function, hard to move around the room for two petite women. Furniture was sticky and damaged. Room smelled musty. Parking lot elevated above ground floor, you must climb down embankment and climb up stairs on the back of building. No ice or vending. Way over priced considering the poor condition. "

"This property is set back off the main road up on a hill that is surrounded by a mature hardwood forest. The area is quiet and provides for a very relaxing environment. The house has a lot of well thought out charm and character. It is thoughtfully decorated with various antiques and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are two gas fireplaces and the main fireplace has a mantle that's fashioned from one of the original beams in the house. The kitchen is fantastic with new appliances and a gorgeous copper farmers sink. The upstairs bedroom with the king bed was my favorite. The bed was very comfortable, there was a sitting room and then the bathroom was unbelievable. Two vanities, a beautiful soaking tub, and a really cool shower with 3 different shower heads made it very spa-like. Overall, the property, the hosts, and close proximity to Banner Elk made our stay very memorable. We will be back."
