We were disappointed as had wanted to stay at this resort forever but it was not the best hotel experience. It is a massive hotel and very noisy at night and early morning. Not the cleanest and the rooms are dated. The corridors are a maze and very dated too. Breakfast price was unaffordable for a family of four. Staff at check in ridiculously slow and disinterested. We won’t be rushing back.

Had two bookings, first night in studio then three nights in Family Villa. Rubbish and recycling not collected. Cockroaches in both units. Door lock Broken in family unit. No compendium in either unit. Checked into studio OK, then told we did not have a booking for following three nights. we had to provide email proof of Expedia booking before they accepted booking. Others in que in front of me could still not book in at 5:30 PM, including couple with baby and elderly parent. Hot pool was not disabled friendly, struggled to get out with failing knees. will never return nor recommend to others.

Nice comfortable and clean room. Staff were friendly and the check-in and check out were easy and quick. Pool was great and there is a secure room for bike storage. We ate in Taupo so cant comment on the food.

The facility was underwhelming. The title “Resort” is stretching the imagination. The place needs allot of work. Half the amenities are not available on the property. The staff seem good and the food was very good at the restaurants.

Good looking hotel with pleasant grounds. Room a little tired but in good condition and clean. Some facilities are temporarily closed. Pool area a bit neglected - needs a good sweeping. Restaurant expensive. But staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall, got the impression that the hotel used to be very exclusive but now not quite the glamous location it used to be.

Property is in a fully outside the city area, so it's very quiet, but still a quick drive away from Taupo (which is good, because I at least visited Taupo every day). It seemed like there wasn't enough front desk staff, as I was stuck waiting on someone multiple times, even though other staff were visible walking around the front desk. Wifi is advertised as free, but is limited to 2GB unless you want to share a bunch of personal info for 10GB. 2GB goes fast when you're streaming anything - I kept getting kicked off after 1-2 hours of use. Wifi speeds were fine at least (though you'll want to stream at lower quality anyway to not get kicked earlier). Property is a little run down, but nice enough. Keycards are made of wood for some reason. Parking is very easy, unless you get a holiday like valentines, when things filled up quite a bit (though I could still find parking). Pool area was nice, pool was quite warm. Pool noise is noticeable in the room at times, but wasn't too much, and the pool closes by 11pm anyway.

This resort is in a great location with nice pools and OK facilities. The room itself was clean enough but incredibly old and dated. Very worn out carpets and furnishings etc. But the main negative was how incredibly hot the room gets. We were staying in early February and the outside temperature was warm but not extremely hot; however the room seemed to catch all the sun and heat and there was only an ineffective ceiling fan to try and relieve the situation. Despite having the fan on full the room was still unbearably hot all night. Even with windows open. For this reason I probably wouldn't stay here again if coming in Summer.

We stayed for 8 nights in January in Room 915 on the top floor. Our room had a king bed with the adjacent suite/sitting room. The sitting room came in handy when we brought food back to the room, so we had a place to sit and eat. Overall the stay was fantastic. Check-in was fast, parking was close, and the staff friendly. The heated lap pool and heated spas were nice and hardly used by anyone else. The tennis courts and golf course were closed the entire time, so if you were hoping to use these you were out of luck. The breakfast buffet the hotel offered for $46 NZ ($27 US) seemed to be way overpriced, but with the suite we had a large refrigerator and purchased food items for breakfast and snacks. There's a BP gas station & convenience store practically across the street which come in handy as well. The downside to the resort are the carpets, both in the rooms as well as the hallways. They're extremely worn and need to be replaced. Another downside is maid service. I'm not sure what the policy is, but they changed the linens once in the 8 days and never came in for anything else. We had to bring our trash to a dumpster every few days. Other than those two small complaints we'd recommend staying here. It's convenient to many attractions, the town of Taupo, and It fit our needs perfectly.

Good for travellers or holiday makers. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great reception welcome and check out. Had a full breakfast everything was hot and fresh. Pool was not that warm but good all the same. Overall condition of buildings and grounds good. Its not as resort like as I was hoping, but I had a great sleep.

This is a regular resort that we have previously stayed at. The hallways look very tired - with threadbare carpets. Our bathroom had mould around the bath. We had arrived with a full fridge full of food for an ongoing camping trip - we put everything in the room fridge only to find the next morning the fridge wasn't working and all food was ruined. A very expensive outcome for us so a disappointing trip. The menu in the bar was very expensive - it never used to be that high - over $40 for a curry. It is a nice resort with pretty grounds and the pool areas are good. But the place certainly needs an update.

The property was well marketed, however quite misleading from the photos, shower had hairs on the floor, wall paper in the bar peeling away, tennis court unusable. The property needs money put back into it, as carpet in hallways was thread bear in places, lumpy...needed straightening out, plus mismatched carpets from hallway to hallway. The only positive from it was the staff, very friendly!

Check in was 3pm, was told at 7:30pm on arrival that the room was not ready due to "all the staff deciding to quit" and the room wouldn't be ready for another hour. When we arrived in the room it had not been cleaned other than the beds being made, rewashed 2 of the mugs in the pantry ourselves due to rings around the rims. The advertising of the accommodation showed room service and an onsite restaurant available but we were told on arrival that none of these services were available. No crockery on cutlery provided in the room or cooking facilities. I booked here for the resort experience and i ended up with a single dwelling unit which i could have paid a hell of a lot less for elsewhere. Definitley not what was advertised and very disappointed in the whole experience.

This property is completely rundown and the facilities were not up to the standard. We couldn’t get the wifi in the rooms and when asked about it, they said come by reception and use it. Room service was very poor and linens were not replaced in the room even though we had requested it. Very disappointed with the stay this time.

When we arrived no one was at reception. So we headed to the bar and he was surprised no one was at reception. He then called them. I had to go back to reception to obtain general information about Wifi, pool times, etc. The barman was friendly and very helpful. Our shower had hair on the walls, so cleanliness was poor. The spouting is worn, rusting and leaking . For my money I believe we can find better quality.

I feel for the staff who need to front annoyed customers who like us do not see the value for money of accommodation. Had to wait an hour for room on 3pm arrival due to air conditioning issues in our room (apparently many rooms had same issue). Very tired property showing its age in hallways and rooms. No wine glasses, only one water glass and two pillows in room on arrival. The friendly housekeeping and FOH staff were obviously very under resourced.
