Although the motel is fairly dated, it is really clean and well situated. Close to many restaurants and right opposite the lake. The view from the front rooms is truly spectacular!

The room itself was clean and tidy and had a view of the lake. The downstairs hall and stairwell smelt overpoweringly strong, like damp and something else. It was awful. Really impacted our stay.

The property is very dated and quite run down but room 402 had been given an update and was modernized. Cleanliness was very good and the price we paid was excellent so overall we were very pleased. Room was nice and quiet. Would stay again.

Lovely view of Lake Taupo as the motel is across the street. Nice accommodations and friendly staff. Just a short drive to Huka Falls. Stayed only one night, but got to enjoy an evening stroll by the lake and testing the hot pool on the shore. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The room was small. But had a nice size tv. You have to wash dishes in the bathroom and I don't like that. Had a nice big tv though and sky. It is very clean and lovely shower and a cool mirror that lights up in bathroom. The lady was very accommodating and helpful and friendly. I had a gorgeous lake view.. no aircon and only one small window.to open. But there was a fan and that was efficient. I was upstairs and even though it's on the main road I couldn't hear the traffic. Lovely place to stay.

We were in Rm 303, 3rd floor. Fabulous view of Lake Taupo. But, lift outside our room was noisy and road noise could bother some. No air conditioning, couldn't leave the window open as the traffic noise was pretty constant. There was a fan in each room for cooling, and oil fin heaters to use in winter. Carpet on stairwell tired. To get to the separate bedroom one had to go through the bathroom, no separate toilet. Light switch for bathroom in kitchen. Door to bathroom is in the wrong place. If someone was in the toilet could not access the separate bedroom. Or, if you were in the bedroom, you had to wait until the person using the bathroom opened the door to be able to exit the bedroom. Had to step up into the 1980's shower, could be a problem for the elderly. Shower water pressure not very strong at all. Beds comfy, nice linen and comfy pillows. Unit very clean. Staff very nice. This motel clearly had its heyday back in the 1980's and is now tired. We felt that there would be other newer motels in Taupo that were better value for money. It wasn't a bad stay but money did need to be spent to bring it up to a better standard.

Proximity to beach and town is good. Lovely staff. No too pricey. Bed comfortable. Traffic noise and too much light in the room didn't make for a deep sleep. Blockout curtains and tv decoder light cover would help I think.

Great property. Comfy bed. We stayed on the 4th floor with magnificent views. However for older people (like myself) shower was over a bath which was a bit scary to get up and out of.
