Beautiful views, convenient location, great staff

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Pros: Beautiful views, convenient location, great staff
Location: Near the Swiss Transportation Museum, the main train station, Chapel Bridge, Kunstmuseum
Hotel Seeburg is a beautiful lake-side hotel that is conveniently located to the main train station (10 minute bus ride) and the Swiss Transportation Museum (10 minute walk). It also offers the serenity and quietness of living next to the lake - nice views! Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and allowed me to do early check-in as well as store my luggage on my check-out day.

Good hotel

Posted 09-Jan-2016
Pros: The view and the atmosphere. Many Christmas lights equaled great atmosphere for cheese fondue dinner on their porch. Quite a few locals eating there.
Cons: Not a lot.... just know that location is a little out of the way from downtown Lucerne. Was not difficult to deal with.
Location: Lucerne was awesome. Decorated to the hilt for Christmas with lights and atmosphere. Must spend a day going to Mt. Pilatus but do it yourself, not thr
This hotel delivered what I wanted, many Christmas lights and fondue dinner on the porch. All nice. They also gave us a top floor room with great view overlooking lake and into Lucerne to the right. I would go back. That said, the hotel s a little out of town and you need to take a bus into the town, or a quite long walk, if you don't have a car. The bathroom is a little dated but was fine and very clean. The staff was helpful.

Lovely and affordable hotel

Posted 18-Dec-2015
I booked a room for two with a view in December. The whole place was decorated inside and out with festive lights and decor, it made for a warm cozy feeling. The room was not big or too small, perfect for two people in my opinion. The bathroom had modern fixtures and was clean. The toilets are in a different room and they were also clean. We had no idea that Swiss outlets were different from Germany, but we paid a 20 euro deposit to borrow an adapter. This is the one hotel that didn't include breakfast but you can include it for 15 euro per person. I wish I had because we ended up spending a lot more on lunch. We had lunch in the restaurant. My boyfriend had the three course that included a mixed veggie salad with sardines, a tomato soup and seafood pasta (he was still dreaming about this pasta as we drove to our next stop point). I had the salad with a veal and beef skewer and rösti with ratatouille. It was excellent and very filling; I didn't eat the rest of the day. Two course meals cost around 80 euro. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has plans to visit mount Pilatus. It has the greatest view from the room and the front desk has info.

Great location along the lake but easy access to other restaurants was quite limited. The night that we did have a lovely meal in the restaurant, we were constantly harassed by two young kids blowing whistles quite loudly. I know that it is the parents that should have taken control but the waiting staff really needed to intervene as it was quite distracting to the other diners
