Clean and comfortable, 800 meters from the train station. Room was large but a bit dated. Would definitely stay there again.

Good Option

Posted 12-Sep-2016
Headed straight to Lucerne after landing in Zurich. Location is good because I got to walk around Lucerne on my way to the hotel and got to see a glimpse of the city. Close to bus stop, Bus takes 10 mins to the main station. Breakfast buffet was okay, normal, nothing special. Had a bit of wait prior to checking out, no one was at the desk. But lady was very helpful and took time to explain and look up train schedule for the day. Good option for my itinerary.

Okay Hotel

Posted 02-Sep-2016
Pros: I think its a good 2.5 star although the breakfast was good hence extra 0.5. Reasonable amount of varieties.
Cons: Kettle in the room would be good and get rid of awful sachets of gels and shampoos. Better lighting would be good. Decor needs updating.
Location: Lake and town center 10 minutes. shops and eating places also nearby. Station will need to take a bus otherwise 20 minutes walk.
Reasonably good location. Everything walking distance. Little bit of culture shock to system from branded hotels where you know what expect. No AC. If you open the window bugs tend to come in. No kettle in room. No drinks machine either other than hot water jug provided to take to your room. Lighting in rooms little bit dim but reasonable bathroom. Gels and shampoo in sachets not ideal prefer bottle or tubes. Overall not value for money.

Great location, friendly staff

I would recommend this hotel. Rooms are simple but large and clean, bathrooms have a real bath tub. Breakfast buffet offers a great choice (even Champagne!) and staff are charming. Only little problem: water temperature is hard to set !

Good Hotel

This hotel is ideal for budget travelers. The staff is excellent. Breakfast was OK. Does not have A/C so it becomes uncomfortable during summer heat. Luckily, we had cool days when we stayed. Location was very good and you can walk everywhere.

Good location close to river, old town and train

Overpriced hotel with a motel/hostel feel. Would not have stayed there if I saw old, sub par rooms in advance. Run by college students it seemed unprofessional. Not a family place to stay.

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. We are happy that the location and our staff was able to help you out with your inquiries. We are aware of the fact that the rooms are not modern anymore. We are working out a renovation project however, this always takes a lot of time until it has been realized. Best regards, Franziska Arnold
