Excellent and well-situated hotel
Lindau is one of the most beautiful places I know, and Vis-à-Vis a superb place to discover it. Vis-à-Vis is "opposite" the station and a couple of steps from the Lake front. There is private parking, but it's a tight fit. WiFi is acceptable but definitely needs upgrading/modernising to respond to the need for video calls to family and friends. Breakfast is first rate and you can eat it outside, watching Lindau wake up and the first travellers arriving by train. I arrived on the hottest afternoon with my dog and the receptionist immediately fetched my four-footed companion a bowl of water. Can't say fairer than that! VIELEN DANK! Ich komme wieder!

Can't beat the location or service
Especially handy if arriving by train as the hotel is located immediately outside the station. Less than a minute away is the harbour. Everyone I had dealings with was faultless. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

Very convenient, great service
Stayed here on a quick stop in Lindau, very close to the train station. Service was very kind, and did speak English. Breakfast had a nice assortment, too!

nice hotel
easy access, great breakfast, and location to local attractions were great! the only issue i had was that we were put in a room on the second floor at the far end of the building. it did not appear that the hotel was heavily occupied so the choice of rooms seemed unnecessary.

Very convenient and great value
Very convenient place right across from train station and in center of town. Also quiet inside. Only downside I did not like the pillows. Great shower and breakfast.

A modern hotel near the train station and Lake Constance. Don’t worry about trIn noise. They are electric trains and sleeping was great. Fabulous German breakfast with Apple Kuchen to die for.

Lovely Stay
Great modern and functional hotel, across the street from railway station, very central and a few steps away from Lake Constance and center of town. Superb breakfast choices. Would gladly return.

Reasonable hotel close to railway station.
We arrived on a Sunday driving our hired VW california campervan and found the area surrounding the hotel very busy, with nowhere to park on the street. Fortunately the hotel has its own parking area available immediately behind the hotel. A big bonus on the island of Lindau, as there is little parking available, especially on weekends.

Pleasant stay at Vis à Vis
My stay at Vis à Vis was very pleasant. The hotel is across from the train station and just a few steps from the harbor where the lake steamers dock. Very convenient for my stay. The town is small so everything is a short walk away. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and an excellent buffet breakfast is included in the price of the room. The next time I visit Lindau I will try them first.

This hotel is ideally situated for everything in Lindau. It is right next to the railway station and also very close to the harbour. The rest of the town's attractions are all working a maximum of ten minutes walk.

Excellent location opposite the railway station and very close to ferry terminals, but no view. Reception not staffed 24 hours if you want an early check-out, but staff helpful.

Worst of the Worst
The hotel room was small, old and felt unclean. Parking is nearly immpossibe and the spaces are incredibily small (watch your door dings). The check-in desk in not open 24/7. I would never stay here again. I will be asking for a refund from Hotels.com.as the hotel was not as described.

Hotel is a bit confusing
My single room was 802, but to get there I had to take the elevator to the second floor, follow the narrow hallway where the room numbers changed to 600, go almost to the end of that, then walk up two flights of stairs, then turn left and go to the end of the hall. There were a number of single unmarked steps down or up along the way which I tripped on 3 times. It is in an excellent location near the boat docks and across from the railroad station. I arrived from Munich by bus on the mainland but could find no taxis or busses. I asked 4 people for help. One said "No taxis," two would not even look at me and the 4th said I had to walk the entire distance to the hotel which took about 50 minutes, not easy for a 78 year old. I left by train.

We enjoyed the stay since it was close to railroad and things we wanted to see. The only thing we didn't like was how noisy it was at night with people talking loudly and and cars racing by.

There was supposed to be someone manning the reception desk from 7.45a.m until 10pm, however we went to speak to someone twice on one day and there was no-one about. There also wasn't an emergency number after 10pm which is not any good if you have any problems. we went back to our room early one evening & the lights weren't working & the staff were helpful & they were fixed quickly. Keycards let you in after 10pm.Breakfast was excellent. Location good & opposite the railway which is handy.

The major disappointment for me was that the front desk who checked us in was very rude. The website had not made it clear that a parking spot is not guaranteed. When I mentioned that I booked there because of the parking, she immediately got defensive and rude (this is clearly an issue that has caused them problems before) and repeatedly told me that they were on an island, and there was no need for a car, in a loud voice. To be fair, maybe she just has a loud voice but it felt as though she was yelling at me. She directed me to a "guaranteed" spot across from the train station, and directed us to pull in to the handicapped parking spot to unload our bags. We went and parked the car at the lot, which did not have guaranteed spots. We drove around several times before we lucked on to someone leaving (apparently many people do bring their cars to the island!). When we returned to finish checking in, the desk clerk still continued to tell me the car wasn't needed on the island and I actually had to tell her I didn't want to talk about the car any more. I didn't even bring it up, she did! I am normally patient, but she frustrated me! I just felt poorly treated with the whole situation.

We weren't staying in the rooms for too long because it was a business trip.The location was good for where we needed to be in regard to the conference and everything was clean which was the main thing we were looking for. The hotel itself is quite basic but has everything that you need. Staff were very helpful.

Excellent first time experience
First time staying on Lindau Island. The trip was for business purposes and the whole experience was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive, meals excellent and the condition and cleanliness of the rooms were supberb. Although we were there for business, it would be a great location for a short break as a couple. So much so that I'll be looking to go back with my wife at some time next year.

We stayed here for a trip to the Opera in Bregen (which is a short ten minute train ride from here). The location is excellent right near the harbour and train station of Lindau. The rooms are recently redecorated, with wonderful bathrooms and clean linen and comfortable beds. The breakfast room is beautiful on the ground floor and the breakfast was buffet style and 5star. Wonderful stay and would gladly return next year.

Hotel was a short block to the waterfront and across the street from the train station. The bathrooms and the room was small. Outside our window hung large halogen lights that reminded me of a Jerry Springer episode. The train station did not bother us. There is limited parking at the hotel so we parked three blocks away at a public parking lot and carted out suitcases to the hotel. Lots of dining and nightlife in the area. Breakfast was included in the rate. For the money I guess it was a good value.

Good Hotel - Great Location
This hotel was very easy to find, located right outside the train station in Lindau Insel. It is a "standard" 3 star hotel for Europe and I think good value for money - definitely worth booking through Expedia rather than direct with the hotel,as we saved EUR120.00. We stayed for 3 nights in a Standard Room type. This was a moderately small room - which is fine as I believe you are not on holiday to spend a lot of time in your room. The hotel does a great breakfast and the reception staff are very helpful in offering information. Hotel is located right next to the information centre anyway. Short walk to main waterfront area and all shops. Car parking is available for an additional EUR7.00 per day. All and all a pleasant stay in a nice hotel - however as I say a "standard" hotel - not boutique style or character hotel. I would compare this to a Novotel style hotel - clean, tidy and has all basic amenities.

Es ist nicht mehr das modernste Hotel aber dafür ist die Lage perfekt. Das Familienzimmer war schön geräumig und verfügte über einen Balkon. Das Personal war super freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Frühstück war für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Parkplätze sind in Lindaus Insel-Altstadt nicht wirklich ausreichend verfügbar aber es gibt ein großes Parkhaus, welches zu Fuß in 5min erreichbar ist. Zum Ein- und Ausladen kann das Auto kurzzeitig vor oder hinter dem Hotel geparkt werden.

Hilfsbereites, nettes Personal, trotz Hektik die aufkam bei der Abreise, weil so viele Kunden auschecken wollten ! Die Zimmer sind grosszügig, das Badezimmer ebenfalls. TIP TOP! Das Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend ausgestattet, vielseitig ! Selbst wenn man spät dran war zum frühstücken, war das Büffet immer wieder gut gefüllt, der Gedanke Foodwaste wurde dabei nicht vernachlässigt! Wir kommen gerne wieder !
