The hotel is in a good location for the railway station, bus/boat stops, lake & City, all within 15-minute walking distance. There is also a Carrefour, few bars & restaurants less than 5 minutes walk..
Staff are friendly & helpful for giving good travel advice, & even offering to booking trips for you if required. They also sell discount tickets for the Funicular so that you can avoid the very long queues at popular times!
The continental breakfast is good, although I didn't see many options for Vegans, but maybe if you ask, they can accommodate. However Vegetarians have a good choice.
There is a good restaurant between the hotel and railway station which I am glad I discovered. It is called Trattoria Pizzeria Ristorante in Borgovico, It is very popular so best to book, especially if you require an early evening table.
I was a solo traveller so I only had a single room with a single bed, but it was large enough & had an ensuite. There was hanging space & drawers for my clothes, plus a desk to sit at, make a drink etc. The TV had a couple of English-speaking news channels (CNN & BBC World), although sometimes the programs would disappear for a few seconds, which could be annoying. Coffee/tea making facilities are provided in the room, but they was no milk or whitening powder, so I bought a carton & stored it in the small fridge in my room. The room also had a safe which is useful.
I enjoyed my stay, & the price which included breakfast was good for this peak time.
