An excellent choice for our stay in Como.The hotel is clean, comfortable and extremely well placed. Right in the centre of the old part of Como: 5 minutes' walk from the harbour and the cathedral, 10 minutes from San Giovanni rail station, 5-10 minutes from the most interesting shops, cafes and markets. The room was very comfortable and well equipped; the shower was excellent (a big deal for us). The staff are pleasant, the breakfast (continental only) was very good. We would definitely stay here again

Awesome location to the main train station
Our stay at Hotel Plinius was good. The best part was the location; it was so close to the Como Sam Giovanni train station and the City Center. The hotel staff were very nice and welcoming, from the receptionist to the kitchen and dining staff. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The decor was a bit dated. It needed some updates. The bathroom was functional but there was some rust on the walls. But for the price and location of the hotel, it was worth it.

The bedroom needed redecoration and refreshing as the carpet was worn and the wallpaper was peeling away. In the bathroom, the shower head and handle was broken, the tiles were cracked and there was black mildew all round the shower cubicle.We reported the broken shower after day 1 but it was not listed as a job when we went back again on day 2. This meant it was very tricky to shower with no shower head! It must have been known that this was broken as the cleaner could not have used it to wash the area. When checking out, we told them again and no one ever apologized or suggested what could be done. For our 3 night stay, we were unable to use the shower easily. The breakfast offer was disappointing. The guest information book said there were Italian delicacies - not sure what or where they were. The coffee machine was not big enough for all the guests as it had to be refilled every 5 minutes. We thought we would get good coffee in Italy but the quality here was sadly lacking.

Centrally located. Staff very friendly and helpful. My room, a single was quite small but the bed comfortable - all i needed for a touring and sightseeing trip.

Pictures of room on Expedia was nothing like the room we stayed in. Dirty carpet floors throughout the room with stains. Hotel staff was very rude and not helpful at all. Hotel was in a good area of town with stuff to do around, but only positive thing about our stay.

Good location to train station. Service by front desk was helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. We really didn’t spend much time there since we were gone most of the day. Bed was very firm , which I like, but most others will hate.

Great hotel next to Como’s major attractions
Very well located hotel surrounded by an almost endless choice of restaurants. The hotel is also located about a ten minute walk from Como’s two train stations.

Since you don't spend that much time in the room
The room was booked for two people. Therefore by that standard the room was small. We both could hardly open our suitcases together. So this was the downside. There were many upsides to the hotel overall. Mostly location wise - near to the Como Giovanni station. Near to the town centre. Near to good restaurants. Walkable distance to the cable car and ferry point.

Great location for exploring Como Lake District
Great old town location close to the harbor and old town restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was included and was tasty. Room was comfortable and bigger than average.

Great location in Como, great reception staff
Hotel very close to main attractions of little Como town. Reception quick and precise at the entrance. Our room was in fair size. We get disable bathroom which was surprised for us but my mum was happy as she is over 50. Breakfast tasty but be prepare to use equipment and make things by yourself (egg, coffee, tee). Very nice staff at reception took care of our language and umbrella ☔. Definitely this hotel has a great advantage because of it's location - straight on the way to one of the train stations.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. We were upgraded to a beautiful room at the top floor where we had an excellent view of the city and the lake at night. Damiano and Davide were very accommodating. Thanks for making our stay memorable. .

The location of this hotel is wonderful and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet (especially the woman working the buffet from Sept.5th to the 7th-- she was the friendliest, most efficient waiter/ waitress we came across in our 2 weeks in Italy). The hotel itself, however is very outdated.

We had a very short stay at Hotel Plinius on the way further up the lake. The room was comfortable clean and modern and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was good with a choice of pastries, fruit, cold meats etc. Staff were friendly. The only downside was we had booked an extra bed as there were three of us, but the extra bed barely fitted in the room. For one night arriving late and leaving early this wasn't a big problem. Had we been there longer it would have been a major issue.

Location is very very central, quick to get around either by boat or train. The room was well equipped with toiletries and a good shower. Even though the room faced a busy street I couldn’t hear any noise at night, ensuring a good nights sleep.

The location of the hotel is excellent. All the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. I was in a single room and it only had one pillow. I would really have liked a 2nd one. There was also a smell in the room after the housekeeping had cleaned it. It smelt like fish but it did decrease after a few hours.
