Gorgeous! The spa is nice, but not worth the high prices. My reflexologist was yawning during the 90 minute service. I think when being escorted from waiting room to room they should refrain from loud talking outside rooms of customers getting services. Very distracting. Spa pool area is lovely.
Situated on a coastal bluff in the picturesque arts community of Laguna Beach. Montage Laguna Beach offers a unique mix the …More
I was hesitant to make the reservation b/c of the other reviews; I'm glad I took the chance! The hotel was excellent: unbeatable price, location...and comfort. It is a block away from the best beach in Laguna Beach (protected area). I got the king w/ocean view & balcony and it was absolutely great! The hotel is much better than what you'd expect for a 2 starts hotel. I have stayed in several hotels in the area, Newport, and Huntington Beach and this is the best (if you're looking to be close to the beach without the price tag). I'm bringing my kids in two weeks!
Hotel staff was great; room was spacious and spotless.
The hotel was close to the the beach, though also a little too close to the Pacific Coast Highway meaning that there was a lot of noise from traffic amplified into the room. Overall, the advantages of that proximity to the beach outweighed the disadvantage of the noise from the traffic.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel does not seem impressive from the outside but the rooms were solid and comfortable from the inside. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided for high quality sleep during the night.
Overall, it was a positive stay and I would repeat the experience in the future.
This place is like a little bed and breakfast that should be in Santa Barbara or Oregon somewhere. Quaint is the word that comes to mind.. I didn't have a bad experience here, at all. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
It's my fault for not checking closer on the map to see where it was exactly located and what was (more so WASNT) around. There really isn't much of anything in walking distance..
They offer a free happy hour which is really nice. Great wine selections and cheese/fruits/crackers etc. Cozy up next to the fire and enjoy!
The room was tiny, like itty bitty tiny. While there were some small upgrades, the space wasn't what I was expecting. The shower was so small, even for me at 5'2 and small framed, I hit my elbows trying to wash off. The walls are paper thin. Truly. Listening to the people next to us have a conversation at 12am and then sex wasn't at all enjoyable..
Breakfast was great! Portions are a little small when you first see them, but perfectly filling. I had the biscuits and gravy, delicious although the potato was slightly undercooked. My husband had the baked eggs and he thought it was great as well. It came with toast for dipping in the eggs, but they were cooked hard. He didn't mind..
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I really had a nice time for one night with my husband, but I don't think I could do more than one night. I just prefer a different type of hotel. This one isn't "bad", at all.
"Nice Hotel with facilities right on the beach exce"
It was our first time to Laguna beach and we were not quite sure where to stay and what to do
this hotel had all our needs covered although the rooms a little bit small location and facilities were fabululoius
Location was amazing, right on the beach in the center of town with a lot of stores and restaurants around. Bare minimum hotel, heat did not work. Great place for a last minute stay, hotel employees very friendly, just a musty smelling old room.
Reality TV portrays Laguna Beach as the land of the young and spoiled. But beneath this veneer is a city rooted in the arts. The Laguna Playhouse is one of the oldest theaters in the West Coast. The city also hosts the annual Festival of the Arts/Pageant of the Masters and the Sawdust Art Festival. West of Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park’s unspoiled beach attracts snorkelers and divers.
