Beautiful property with great service. Authentic native food isn’t the best on the property, but you can go to a variety of nearby places to get your belly full. I actually extended my stay to a whole week because the hotel was top tier. I will definitely be returning!

I’m proper credit card transactions. Stuck at elevator lobby due to malfunction. Over charging for rooms. Unwilling to properly accommodate online bookings. Failure to take cash payments. Harassing of frequent guest. Poor management practices. Double charges Visa cards and forces blocks and excessive holds on foreign cards.

It won’t fail to disappoint
I’ve stayed here several times, mostly when it was InterContinental. The building and fixed facilities are good, but most other things have gone downhill. Some rooms are poorly maintained and cleaned. On 2 of 4 nights they didn’t bother to replenish the toiletries, so on the third morning I had nothing left except shower gel. Yet the housekeeper made a point of stopping me halfway down the corridor for a tip. On 3 of 4 nights I had 1 bath towel and 1 face towel. On my final night they gave me the normal allocation of two, plus a face towel. It sounds like nothing and I did not complain. But it’s annoying when you wash your face at night and you don’t want to use the dirty hand towel or unroll the bath towel. Even at budget hotels you get more towels. The towels were also quite hard and threadbare, again, not a huge deal, but this is supposed to be a luxury hotel. They will screw you around with room changes and suggest that they are doing you a favour. They wanted to move me twice during a 4 night stay. I refused at the first, unplanned, move. They don’t have railed trolleys or removable hangers to facilitate moving. Staff will brazenly ask for cash tips on top of what you have written on the receipt. Breakfast isn’t great and very busy, so you may not find a seat and staff won’t actively help. I didn’t bother after the first morning. The Italian restaurant has closed but there is no mention of this online. To me it was a factor in choosing to return.

I booked for an entire week for me and my siblings but on the day my siblings arrived the hotel said they were sold out and canceled there booking. Hotel staff harassed me everyday about payment originating from the US. Their system did not pick up the payment paid even though I kept showing them the payment had been processed on my end. They kept wanting me to stop payment on my card, in turn, inconveniencing me and potentially putting a block on my card. Turns out their system was just delayed in seeing my payment. The hotel did nothing by way of financially, to rectify their behavior. On top of that, the rooms are dated for a 5 star hotel. I heard you have to stay on the 20th floor or above to have decent rooms.

The hotel is clean, very nice spacious rooms. However, I’m not pleased. My husband and I booked there for our wedding reception. They told us each meal was 10,000, then increased to 12,000. We paid for wedding decorations which the hotel previously told us it was fine…then changed once we got to the hotel. So we were out of money because they told us we couldn’t have it. This was a buffet and our guest could not order what they desired. I was the bride and they ran out of food. The food they offered was horrible! They were slow to bring towels and food. This hotel is overpriced, and not good customer service more so in the kitchen area. On the 5th floor they were really nice at the bar. I would never come here again. Other hotels have better quality service. If I pay high price I expect exceptional customer service.

Hotel stuff is not helpful. They try to get more money than standard rates for rental car. Our rooms were not ready once we arrived to the hotel. We had to change it next day. They try to keep everywhere clean but actually it doesn't look like clean. Even though it is located one of the best places in Victoria Island, it was not good enough
