Great atmosphere, lots of art. Very friendly staff but perhaps a bit inattentive. My room was not cleaned for the three nights that I stayed there and it wasn't that clean, missing lightbulbs, etc when I checked in. I liked the room (though I had to insist that I had booked an executive room). I would say they overcharge for what they offer.

I have stayed at Bogobiri before and so was disappointed at how run down the place has become. A lick of paint and re-organisation of the furniture, new bedding etc would make such a difference. There were prolonged power outages during my stay and breakfast was sparse (no butter or jam for my toast). It is a shame as this is a unique place which can have a lovely atmosphere.

Pulling a fast one Naija style
Reserved the palm suite for a week. When we arrived they put us in the executive suite (half the size and not nearly as nice). I told them they made a mistake and they tried to convince me the executive was what I paid for. My reservation clearly said palm suite. They asked me to stay in the room for the night because the palm suite was occupied and they only had one of those rooms. They promised to reimburse me in the morning and correct the “mistake”. The next morning the room was still occupied and they did not price adjust for the smaller room they put me in. I called hotels.com to cancel the rest of my reservation. The hotel tried to tell customer service that they could put me in another room so they would not reimburse the first night. I tried to explain that the other room they wanted to offer me was just another executive room. The whole thing was ridiculous. At least I got 6 out of 7 nights of money back. Never again. Went to stay at the protea hotel which was nicer, way better breakfast, and walker/transportation friendly.
