We had a spacious room with a modern bathroom - both spotlessly clean - and a balcony with a wonderful view of the ocean and the Rock of Gibraltar. The hotel is situated in a rather run-down area but this wasn't a problem and it is just a 20 minute walk to the Gibraltar frontier. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the restaurant dinner menu fully met requirements.
The only improvements we can suggest is to provide tea/coffee machines in the rooms and chairs on the balconies.
"Simple, clean, great value! You get what you pay!"
I was staying here (25 years) with my brother (30 years) for 2 nights whilst the music Festival in Gibraltar was on It really depends what you're looking for. The hotel was clean and the check-in staff was friendly. I think for what we wanted, something quite basi, value and clean this was ideal as it's close to the border. The shared bathroom worked well, there was hot water and towels and a small sink in your room which was a good feature.
The rooms are simple, with a small TV and fan but perfectly comfortable.
Very good hotel to stay for visit to Gibraltar. Big room, next to the beach of La Linea De La Concepcion. Very friendly staff . The breakfast is very simple, but sufficient for the purpose. But you need your own transport with a good GPS in order to find the hotel first.
Located near the bus station, the center of town, and the border to Gibraltar, this hotel is a good base for sightseers. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it seemed okay as well. However, do not get a room in the back! The street is pretty quiet but the back is on a square with several restaurants and it is LOUD until 2-3:00 in the morning.
After an arduous journey through Spain, what a breath of fresh air this place (and La Linea in general) was! Lovely décor, very clean, all items in great condition, comfortable and close enough to the action but without the evening noise.
Pocket Guide: Cadiz La Linea de la Concepcion Hotels
On the Bay of Algeciras, La Linea is a low-key resort and overspill residential area for the citizens of Gibraltar. Its seafront includes two long sandy beaches. Just inland is Casares, one of Andalusia’s most charming and photographed ipueblos blancos/i (white villages). Nearby, Castellar de la Frontera is another picturesque village. Golfers should head 20 kilometres up the coast to the world-class facilities of the Sotogrande Club.
