I think the staff here are cold. Not approachable or helpful. Other than that, the parador is a lovely place to stay and Ubeda is a pretty town. Everything is closed on Monday so plan your stay accordingly.

Correcto pero necesita remodelación.
Edificio espectacular. Habitación de tamaño correcto aunque necesita reforma. No esperes una habitación moderna y con comodidades, porque no lo es, pero no está mal. Ubicación perfecta si vas de paseo o turismo. Un detalle que no comprendo es que no te den una miserable botella de agua gratis, cosa que en otros paradores si dan. Personal agradable.

This was a classic difference of style over substance hotel stay whereas my wife really likes old historical hotels that portray a history, whereas i much prefer a 5 star luxury hotel with all the trappings. Unfortunately this does not combine the two!

We got what we were expecting
Hotel beautiful. Room and bathroom excellent. Staff friendly and very helpful. Where, as with most Paradores, the hotel fell down was the food. Breakfast good, extensive but expensive. Lunch and dinner offerings too “frou-frou” and expensive. As a result the restaurant was empty. We didn’t even bother to stay in for dinner and chose to eat out in the wide choice of excellent restaurants to be found close to the hotel.

Affordable parador
Beautiful room in an historic building. Our room had tile steps up to the bedroom. The hotel has a good restaurant.

Wonderful hotel
Wonderful hotel; superb location in the centre of Ubeda. Our room had a view over the town square and the magnificent church that is next door. Complete with antique furniture and four poster bed, the room was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff.

Really first class. As it was winter the outside terraces were closed but the lounge was quite lovely.

The hotel is located in an amazing historic building situated in a beautiful square. The staff are very nice, helped us arrange transportation to Baeza and offered tips about bars and restaurants. The room is typical from a parador, old-fashioned but reasonably comfortable.

Nice - but very expensive
The Parador at Ubeda is located in the Monumental section of town. The rooms are adequate - though not as large as other Paradores that we stayed at. There is no pool and parking is not provided. The buffet breakfast was OK - with a reasonable selection to choose from. What was stunning was the price - much higher that prices commanded by other (superior) Paradores.

The hotel is beautiful but the rooms could use some updating. The hotel seemed pretty empty but we were given a room facing a wall. Overall, a little overpriced given the location and level of comfort.

Classic renaissance parador stay
A classic parador in a wonderful old palace right in the heart of the historic district in Ubeda. A comfortable room with good beds,a large well equiped bathroom, and WiFi. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room which is a bit of a negative. Didn't use the restaurant facilities as there are plenty of places to eat nearby that are excellent. Did have a drink in the bar which has potential but currently has the ambience of a school cafeteria...not recommended. There is free street parking nearby....make sure you know where you are going on arrival as it is a bit tricky to find. Staff efficient but not terribly personable. However, location and history trump the few negatives. The city and the parador are recommended.

Top Renaissance town
The parador is in the center of the town which means everything is within easy walking distance. The rooms are large as are the bathrooms. We ate in the restaurant for dinner ordering the full typical dinner. It was good but not great. there was too much food for 30 euros. Service in the restaurant needs a lot of help. The only server did not speak any English and she coughed into her hand all night. Breakfast was a good spread of cold foods. Again service was poor.

Beautiful ancient building
We stayed three nights at this Parador in Ubeda. Fantastically situated on the nicest square in the old town. Quite difficult to find initially, but plenty of parking a stone's throw away. We had a lovely room at the side of the building overlooking the garden with its tinkly fountain. The main courtyard within the hotel is splendid and there is a comfy guest sittingroom downstairs with wifi. Breakfast had everything one could need but we had dinner in the hotel on our first night and I would say they could do with some improvement here - Spain has a reputation for excellent cooking and this was distinctly underwhelming.

A palace away from home
3 nights we stayed in a standard twin room. The room was very spacious with 2 comfotable chairs and coffee table to relax at. There was a desk and chair and pretty good wifi in all areas. The linen was wonderful as you expect from Parador and always hot water available immediately in the delightful twin sink bath/shower room.. For us, breakfast was a little disappointing for the cost. However, dinner in the restaurant was delightful and along with the excellent wine was good value for money. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet square in the old town but just a very short walk around the block takes you to a livelier part of the old town with bars, restaurants and cafés. I would recommend this friendly, comfortable hotel and area to visit.

The building gets you right into the 17th century with its authentic decor, but amenities are all modern, from the bathroom to the elevator tucked into a corner. Staff are super-helpful and made me feel right at home. It is right next to the main attractions of Ubeda. Room is large, and bathroom is the biggest I have seen anywhere. Bed is a bit harder than I like, but that seems to be the case in Spain overall. Can't comment on the restaurant since I did not eat there, but menu seemed interesting, if pricier than typical for that part of Spain.

Impressive building located in the main square of this beautiful town. The room was big and comfortable, also the bathroom. The hair dryer lacked strength. That will be our only complain.

Great historic hotel in southern Spain.
This is a very unique parador experience. It is located right in the heart of Ubeda, which is a beautiful historic town that is kept extremely clean. It is a great place to spend 4-5 days enjoying the hotel, the town (there are a variety of historic sites to see) and even some small day trips in the surrounding region. This town also has exceptional restaurants (that provide you with the true tapas experience), great cafes, small shops and markets. The hotel is also kept very clean with charming period piece furniture (which are great yet can appear "dated" in style in relation to more modern hotels) and a great courtyard. WIFI is free yet best reception is in the main courtyard. The staff is very friendly and assists with check-in (especially since there is no parking on-site). Parking is not a problem as there is plenty of free street parking in town.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location in a city which is well worth a detour if you're not planning to include Ubeda on your Andalucia trip. The parador is a gorgeous restored renaissance palacio with high-ceilinged rooms with balconies to internal courtyards. It's light and spacious and a delight to stay in. I would recommend that you go out to a local cafe for breakfast.

Parador Ubeda - Excellent once you locate it!
Exteremely difficult drive to the hotel and you will have to park a 5-minute walk away, but the hotel is great, food quite good and a wonderful location in a fantastic small town.

The hotel is a renaissance building set in a beautiful square and not far from a mirador (viewpoint) of the surrounding area. Inside the hotel there is an elegant courtyard where you can sit for a drink. The reception area and rooms are off the courtyard. Our room was comfortable and furnished in old Spanish style; a welcome change from the bland furnishings of modern hotels. The air conditioning was quiet and efficient. Breakfast was buffet style- a good variety of cold options, but the hot options were a bit disappointing. It is not far from the main attractions -Church of San Salvador is yards away - and the main shopping area. A taxi back from there was 4 euros. There are lots of restaurants near the hotel.

we stayed here on wife's birthday and were delighted. lovely courtyard in middle of hotel to relax and have a coffee. given this a parador we had a very reasonably priced, delicious dinner served by friendly staff. fantatstic views over the mountains a minutes walk away. no parking at hotel but found a space close by parador is next to church but the bells stop overnight! also close by is excellent cafe for breakfast with excellent orange juice this was our first experience of the paradors and we'll be using them again
