I wanted to like this hotel. The location was beautiful, right in beach! Everything else was disappointing. Room was dirty, only one lounge chair, (we were told that is all we get). There were no mugs or cups in room for coffee. We had to find a broom and sweep our floor and patio. Besides when I checked in, I never saw a single person working at desk or in housekeeping. The shampoos were empty. I truly want to like this place and it has great potential. My hope is the owners read this and at least get the basics right- clean, chairs for two, mugs, shampoo stocked.

I arrived to the hotel around 8:30pm. The room I got when I first arrive was horrible. First off the lighting was not good in the room. Then the balcony door didn’t open and the TV didn’t work. Also the refrigerator and microwave was rusty. This was in Bldg B on the first floor. I then complained and was moved to another room and that TV did not work and instead of having a king size bed (which I requested) this had two beds which costed less via expedia. I paid more for the king so now I’m in a room that cost less than what I paid for upfront at Expedia. I’m really pissed now. This second room was also in Bldg B. The next day I’m moved again. This room is was in Bldg A. It was finally decent but only was a queen bed. Again not what I paid for but I let it go as I’m tired of moving and decided to let Expedia know. They refunded me the difference in the room prices. This hotel really need to fix their rooms. Also they need to exterminate because there was a roach in the bathroom that I took a picture of in Bldg A. The Palms need to do better!!!

The Palms was likely a really beautiful property 20 years ago. Unfortunately now it has become very tired and rather poorly maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful with anything you ask, and the location is magnificent…our ground floor room had a patio that was ten steps from the surf. Cleanliness was right at about minimally acceptable, but we didn’t realize until the third day there that the key to our room was the only one, and we had to give it to housekeeping to access our room to clean it. This was a mechanical key, by the way, even though there was a card scan lock on the door that apparently is nonfunctional. The patio door security lock was broken as well. In all, it was a relaxing stay, but not nearly as comfortable as we were hoping.
