"Very friendly hotel close to beach and dive shop"
We chose this hotel as it was 2 mins walk from the dive shop. Excellent choice. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Very clean, with unexpected balcony, only negative was rather hard bed! Had to pay for parking but hotel had very secure off road parking. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel and would recommend it
We (family of 5) stayed here at the end of May 2014. Right from checkin, Antoni (main staff that we saw) was amazing! He ensured that our questions were answered and things we needed were provided. The apartment was spacious (we had a 3 bedroom on top floor), very clean, balconies from master br, living room and upper room. We were very impressed and enjoyed the room to spread out. The pool was nice, it is shallow but had a nice deck and fence around it. Laundry (for a fee) available in the basement. Would recommend for families wanting reasonable apartment close to beach.
The townhouse is located right in the center of what we wanted to visit and we preferred the quietness of the Torre Gran urbanizacion to the hustle of the big hotels in L'Estartit.
The place is a cookie cutter townhouse part of a development with a nice kids swimming pool in the complex, plenty of parking, a little yard and nice terrace. It's pretty basic and has no Internet, but it's very pleasant.
The staff that manages these apartments, like mostly everyone in Catalonia, is extremely helpful and nice - they let us borrow beach umbrella and towels. However, we had some trouble picking up the key from a different location whose address is not written down on the Expedia description. It's the Miami apartments in L'Estartit (opposite direction from Toroella de Mongri.) And you have to pick it up during certain timeframes.
Also, due to what looks like the local custom, you have to bring all house essentials: paper towels, extra toilet paper, soap, floor cleaning liquid, kitchen sponges, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper etc. There are basic kitchen utensils, but the coffee filter was missing the bottom glass container so making coffee was quite an adventure.
Two of the beds were squeaking when you turned around at night.
Overall: very pleasant stay in a perfect location, but basic.
With a mountainous backdrop, L’Estartit occupies an attractive bay setting. This compact high-rise resort is popular with Spanish, British and north Europeans who relax on its five-kilometre long beach. Just offshore, the abundant sea life of the Illes Medes underwater reserve attracts divers from afar, plus snorkellers and glass-bottom boats from the marina. By night there are some lively bars and clubs, though local haunts can also be found.
