Quality of service

The room was very comfortable and clean. The ladies were very pleasant and helpful. However the restaurant needs to up its game regarding staff attitude and the variety of breafast offered.Having said this, the doormen and reception staff made up for the restaurant staff. I would consider coming back because generally we had a pleasant time regardless.

Seafront hotel, clearly seen better days

Location: Seafront, great location
Nothing positive to say. Worst reception staff in memory. Shower was either hot or cold every 30 seconds, could be dangerous for elderly person. Constant knocking at door or ringing by staff who had already been told many times about my reservation. Worst example - security entered unannounced with "guest" who wanted to view room. Strange?? Breakfast poor - I went to local restaurant after one morning. Couldnt even arrange taxi on departure. Have been in SA for 20 years now all over and in every type of accomodation. My worst ever experience. Its supposed to be 4* - biggest joke since Brexit. One exception - my room attendant was fabulous and did an excellent job. I guess it was cheap but in SA that does not provide this level of incompetence.

prometteur mais vraiment très décevant

moquette hors d'age, chambre petite, pas de double vitrage, vue mer en se levant sur la pointes des pieds, air conditionné sans afficheur digital de temperature, petit déjeuner vraiment décevant par la qualité et diversité. Seul le personnel répond à chacune de vos attentes... Hôtel à déconseiller !

charming hotel, but dodgy neighbourhood

Charming hotel, friendly staff, room clean and orderly albeit a bit small, but neighbourhood a bit dodgy after dark. We had terrible service in the restaurant with the waiter taking our drinks and food order several times only to come back to tell us they didn't have what we had ordered from the menu, each time taking at least 5 minutes to come back. While waiting on the terrace we watched a bunch of revellers screaming and throwing stones after a street person - not the most re-assuring sight for a visitor...

Not a good first impression

Once settled in my room I took a chance by dialing 9 (could not find instructions anywhere in the room) to get hold of reception to enquire about the free Wi-Fi and the guy insisted that the instructions is in the black folder on the desk which I had already checked. I then got a piece of paper with a long list of passwords delivered to my room and because there are no clear instructions I called reception again to enquire which of the many passwords I should use just to receive very abrupt answers from a lady. I even asked if they are very busy at reception because she's not listening to what I'm saying and it sounded like she just wanted to get rid of me!

Disappointing stay. Waited quite a while at reception when I arrived. The air conditioning at the reception is not very effective either. Initially given a smoking room, then moved to another room where the curtains came off the rail when I tried to close them. The shower in a bath is a safety hazard I would rather avoid. The air conditioner in the second room was load and the mattress felt warn and I just started to wonder about things I cannot see. The R1400 was just not value for money. I eventually booked myself into another hotel.
