The theme of our rooms are traditional thai rooms, some are modern thai style and some are the really more traditional thai style rooms and buildings. In our standard room, which I think you booked, We have 1 building the modern thai style and the other building beside it with the pool is the more traditional thai style building and rooms. I think when you booked, it will be indicated if it's a cottage, bungalow, villa or just a room. Also when you go to each room type when you book, there are photos of what each room will look like. For this past few years and still up until now, we do our best to upgrade and improve more our services and facilities. We also plan and think of more activities we can offer to our lovely guests. So we hope we can still see you guys again here next time. Regarding the tubes, We apologize if it's not pleasing to the eye, those are tubes in taking water from the sea. We filter them and process them so we have water to use around the resort. Other than that, We also have things around the resort for collecting rain water as well. There are other spots around the resort where you can swim or lounge where there is no pipe lines around. The spot you wentt o is the one near the pool area, you can also go a bit in the middle or at the northern end part of the private beach where there is more sand and less rocks. Or you can always go at the front of the resort, which is laemtong beach, where all the guests of this part of the island stay and go. Good Day Miss Megan, On behalf of Phi Phi Natural Resort, first we would like to say that we are very grateful for you staying and choosing our resort to stay in, while visiting Phi Phi Island. Second, We cannot apologize enough for the inconvenience that happened during your stay. The problems regarding the rooms, like the ants and the sewer smell, shouldn't have happened in the first place. If it was checked properly, which we do even before guests arrives, this problems could have been avoided. Unforyunately it was over looked by the staff who went to check it. I assure you it won't happen again and we are really sorry. For the beds we apologize if it's not the kind you prefer. A lot of our guests liked our beds so it's a bit hard to really know if we really have to address it in a permanent way, but as of the moment guests can request for additional duvet to put on top of the bed to make it softer. And same with the pillows we have different kinds of pillows. You can also request it at the reception so we can ask housekeeping to bring you a softer set of pillows and the additional duvet. Any concern regarding rooms you can always come to us at the reception and we'll do our best to address it. As for the private beach, it is true that it is mostly rocky but there are also parts that are sandy which is at the northern end part of the private beach and near the pool area. We brief our staff to inform all our guest about it so they will have an idea of what the private beach is. We also wouldn't like to take out those rocks, because as we promote being environmentaly friendly, those rocks are there since the beggining and are home for so many sea and land creatures. It also protects the island from big waves and the drastic change in tides. Regarding the refund, we are not able to do refunds on guests bookings especially if there are other booking agents involve, as for you guys is expedia, because there are policies regarding this cases. but we are happy that you we're able to move to another room type which is better that the first one. Also for the kind of boats for transportation, on our main website, which is phiphinatural.com, we have there a map of where we are located and how to reach it. We also put there the details of the ferrry service. Other than that our live chats are proactive , so when you give us a message we answer any concerns on the spot or at least a day after, just do not forget to put your email. But regardless, we still apologize and deeply saddened about it for having a big effect during your stay with us. Most of the supplies in the resort are shipped from Phuket and Krabi, which makes food and other products here pricier. But at this part of Phi Phi Island , we are one of the cheapest already, and there are 4 resorts here. Our solution for now is to put additional duvet on the beds to make it softer. This past few years we've been doing a lot of development and improvement in our services and facilities. It also includes investing in new mattresses, thinking of new activities to do for our guests and much more. We deeply apologize about the sewer, but rest assure that we are doing our best to check the rooms better including our pipelines and bathrooms. For the pond, guest don't have to worry about mosquito living in it, we have a lot of mosquito eating fishes ad catfish living in the pond and we also have a pump to make sure that the water in the pond will always be moving and not stagnant. The aquarium near the breakfast area has been taken care for. It is where we breed some of the fish that eat mosquitoes. As for swimming, at our beach front, you can go to any part of the beach to swim. Phi Phi Natural is at the very edge of the island so the water near the resort is more rocky, those rocks protect the island from big wave when the weather is not so good or when the tide is very high. Guests can go swim anywhere along the whole stretch of leamtong beach, regardless if it is in front of a different resort. No one owns the beach and the water. As for our private beach at the east side of the resort, mostly it is rocky, like we said it is to protect the island and also it is home for different sea creatures. But there are also some sandy areas at our private beach, 1 is near the infinity pool, the 2nd is a bit in the middle part of the beach and the 3rd one is at the northern end of the private beach. But of course how big or wide the sand area will still depend of the tide which changes every hour and every day. Despite all of the downside, we still would like to thank you for acknowledging the service of the staff and liking our breakfast buffet. It really makes us sad that you weren't able to relax fully during your stay. Other than that they've also hired me specifically for communicating in English, so when guests need assistance, I will be there to assist and communicate with guests in English. We also apologize for the private beach, we instructed receptions to inform guests that it's going to be mostly rocky. The sandy are of the private beach will be near the infinity pool area, a bit in the middle and at the very end of the private beach. But also be mindful of the changing tides, High tide less sandy area, low tide more sandy area. Also the concern regarding the rocks at the private beach, we do not take out the rocks because it protects the island from big waves during rainy season and during high tide, and it is also home for many sea creatures. Regarding the trash on the beach, we have staff cleaning the resort and the beach once, twice or several times a day. But during high tide and rainy days, the trash from other parts of Thailand are washed up on our beach. I assure you that we are taking the trash problem seriously, so we add more trash bins around the resort. For the standard room being on top of the hill, to give a better picture of what the rooms and place looks like, we added more photo for our rooms and facilities, so guests will have a clearer picture of the resort. Our standard room building is where our private sunset view point is, so yes it is a building but in most rooms you can see the sea from the balcony, either the east or the west and when you go out of the building, you will have one of the amazing views in the island. Most of the establishments at this part of the island closes at 10pm, not just our resort but also the other neighboring resort and restaurants. This part of Phi Phi is where you can do more relaxing and just being away from the parties and chaos of city/town. For the private beach, We apologize if our staff weren't able to fully inform you about it. Our private beach is true mostly rocky and the sandy parts are near the pool area, a bit in the middle and at the very end of the private beach, but how wide the sand area will be depends on the tides. We don't really take the rocks out in our private beach because it protects the island from big waves from storms and for water coming in during high tides. Other than that there are a lot of sea creatures that use those rocks for shelter. Regarding the trash, over the years until now, we put more trash bin around the resort and we assign staffs to do the cleaning 1 , 2 or more times a day, but during rainy season, windy days and high tides, the trash from the surrounding islands near Phi Phi island comes to our shorelines, so it's quite tricky to really make the beach perfectly clean. Will all the downside and not so good experience you had we are still happy that we are able to find a solution for you and we hoped that you had better days in our sister resort in Long beach. It's true that it's better to change currency in the main lands like Phuket, because here in Phi Phi Island main town, Tonsai, the rate is lower and much more lower at the resorts. You can change currency at Phi Phi Natural if you don't have choice, but be aware that the rate used is fixed and not high. You can also do cash advance at PP Erawan Palms, which is 6 minutes walk from PP Natural, but they have 10%. For banks, there are banks on the main town of Phi Phi Island, Tosai town. So if ever you really forgot to change currency or take money in an ATM, you can just use your card inside the resort for all transactions. But outside in 2 local restaurants, it's cash basis. Seeing that you still had an amazing experience despite having some things that didn’t quite reach your expectations, is the best thing we could hope for! We are very happy to know that you enjoyed and loved our gardens. For this past few years, until now, we made a lot of improvement and development in our services, facilities and our gardens. Regarding the beds, we try to weigh guests opinion about it because some do like it some ,like you guys, find it too hard. For the beds, for now, we put extra duvet blanket to put on top of the bed so it can be softer. But we are doing our best to invest in new mattresses as well. For our standard building rooms, superior room and superior villas, we don't have mosquito nets there, but if guests requested for mosquito spray in the room we can send a staff to go there and spray some more. We also sell some mosquito spray in the lobby and in our gift shop. Your opinion is valued greatly and it helps us maintain excellent standard of service to our guests and also help us address the problem and improve more so maybe next time you could write us more about your stay.
