You definitely come here to stay here for a bit as it's not near the main road, but it's so peaceful and bucolic. The sunrise over the tea fields was spectacular, but the highlight for the kids was tea picking and the dinner in the railcar. We stayed in the Flowerdew Suite, which was enormous, but the only slight gripe is that I booked for 2 adults and 2 kids and realistically there was only the one king bed and a sofa, and since the kids wants to sleep together, they decided to sleep on the floor. They actually had no complaints and said it was comfortable so we let it be." We stayed in the King Suite, and it was the highlight of our trip. It is definitely worth the slight upcharge! The infinity pool with views was the perfect way to wind down after a day of sightseeing. The staff was beyond friendly and so courteous. We don't typically choose half board, but our trip to Kandy was quick, so it just made sense to stay on site for meals, and I am so glad we did, because the dinner set menu had plenty of options and the portions were large. Plus, the setting is nicer than any restaurant we would have gone to anyway. And we were able to enjoy an after-dinner cocktail and live entertainment for at their rooftop bar. Staff are friendly byt could be better trained on small nuances. The last who checked us in vaguely indicated the direction of the room and we spent 10 minuted walki g up and down searching for it. When we asked for a la carte food options other than the I.suan restaurant they have, ot took me 20 minutes to get the front desk to admit that a la carte foid could be ordered at tje lounge bar as well. When i we t to the lounge bar it took another 15.minutrs if argument for them to agree that yes they would accept the irdr even when the food menu was clearly lying inthe counter top! The hotel is beautifully designed, and its hilltop location provides perfect views over Kandy and the surrounding hills. One of the standout moments was the morning mist covering the lower parts of the city and hills, leaving the peaks visible above it. It was a beautiful sight. The staff were exceptional, and the food and dining experience were also very good. The infinity pool is a must after a day in town. The road up the hill is a little winding, but once you arrive, it is clearly worth it. After a full day exploring Kandy, I’d suggest taking a tuk tuk back up to the hotel. Overall, a memorable stay in a very scenic setting."
