It is located on the third row of villas from the beach front, but still enjoys sea views from the ground floor terrace and upper first floor balcony. The villa is ideal for up to four adults and 2 children, with 2+1 bedrooms, open plan living room, well equipped kitchen, large upstairs balcony off the master bedroom and a large shaded terrace on the ground floor. The villa is situated behind the central pool and just seconds away from a quiet secluded Bang Por beach. Accommodation in detail The villa is open plan with a large living area with casual sofas and flat screen cable TV. Two sets of double doors open out onto the ground floor shaded terrace, cooled by ceiling fans and where you will find a large dining table and sun loungers. The terrace overlooks the pool and colourful tropical gardens, behind which, through the trees, is access to the soft sands of Bang Por beach. To the rear of the living area and behind a counter bar is an open plan kitchen equipped with hotplates, microwave oven, coffee maker and fridge/freezer. Behind the kitchen there is a corridor which leads to the downstairs bedroom. The bedroom has a Queen-sized bed and connects to an en-suite bathroom. Further along the corridor are stairs to the first floor which brings you directly into a “mezzanine bedroom” which is ideal for children as it adjoins. the master bedroom. The master bedroom is equipped with a King-sized bed and leads to a large en-suite bathroom. Double doors open out onto the upstairs balcony where you can laze and relax enjoying the views toward the sea across the lush tropical gardens. All bedrooms are fitted with air-conditioning and ceiling fans. There are only 6 holiday villas in the spacious grounds of the Coconut Tropicana all built in a similar style. The villas surround the large central swimming pool which has a small separated pool for children, a whirlpool massage and sun-loungers to relax upon. Past the swimming pool and down to the beach there are views across to the neighbouring islands of Koh Phangan and Angthong Marine Park. On a clear day you can even see the island of Koh Tao in the distance and at night over the marine park you can see some spectacular sun sets. Coconut Tropicana Villa T5 is managed by Banyan Villas who are located at Coconut Paradise about 1km along the beach to the east of Coconut Tropicana. On request, we can organise your transfer from the airport and we will meet you at your villa on arrival. There are restaurants within easy reach; a couple are a short walk down the beach (Jun Hom, The Sea) further restaurants can be found just a short walk from the villa entrance and within 1km in the centre of Bang Por there many more restaurants and bars. A couple of kilometres away is a 7/11 convenience store, a discount supermarket. For main provision shopping Big C, Makro and Lotus can be found on the main ring road between Bophut and Chaweng, about 20 minutes’ drive. In Chaweng itself you will find Central Festival a very large shopping centre and Department store and many street shops and a Tops supermarket. Closer by are Maenam and Bophut, Maenam has a few small restaurants and Bophut Fisherman’s village has many bars and restaurants of all cuisines. Getting Around We would recommend car hire during your stay, although it is possible to flag down the local "pick-up taxis" that frequently pass the entrance. Should you choose to drive an international driving license should be used. International car hire companies such as Hertz and Avis are present at the airport. Banyan Villas can also arrange car hire for you. Driving times: Airport: 30 minutes Bophut: 10 minutes – restaurants, shopping, tours Golf Course 10 minutes Chaeweng 25 minutes – restaurants, shopping, nightlife Maenam 5 minutes – restaurants, shopping Nathon 15 minutes – administrative capital, restaurants, shopping Big Budha 20 minutes - Temple and souvenir shopping Supermarket shopping 25 minutes (Big C, Tesco Lotus, and Makro) Getting to Banyan Villas By air Most visitors to Koh Samui, whether domestic or international, will reach the island by air. Bangkok Airways own the private airport on the island and operate flights from Bangkok every thirty minutes from early morning until 9pm. With a flight time of just 45 minutes, it is but a short hop! Bangkok Airways also operate direct flights from other cities within Thailand, as well as international locations such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China. Check the schedule on Bangkok Airways website for details. By road & ferry If driving through Thailand then head for the small port of Donsak on the southeast coast about 70km from Surat Thani. There are two car ferry services operating from here, with crossings to/from Koh Samui every hour between dawn and dusk. Visas Thailand does not require visas for most European, North American, Australasian or ASEAN nationals if travelling for the purposes of tourism. Great location, staff & management very helpful & friendly, comfortable beds, shared pool lovely and deep. Some aspects a little dated such as kitchen & bathroom, also hot tub on balcony is out of action. Upstairs bedrooms are quite warm through the night, and 3rd bedroom upstairs is part of a walk through landing en route to master bedroom, rather than a self-contained room.
