We absolutely loved loved loved this resort, we spent 6 days here pretty much relaxing and enjoying the environment. Our villa was comfortable/clean and romantic. It was great having mosquito net around the bed as lots of wildlife geckos/mosquitos etc. Breakfast was fantastic and the other facilities swimming pool/bar/restaurant all were all amazing. The staff were very helpful and if we had any issues or problems things were rectified immediately. Prices for transfers/tours/renting motorbike were a little expensive so better to organise these at different place there are plenty of tourist agents around. Overall really great place for a holiday.
From the reviews we read prior to booking, Twin Lotus did not fail its reviewers. From the moment we walked in, we were served yummy fresh sweet juice with a cold wet towel! Staff are friendly and speaks good English (which means they speak English at their best so please be kind before you judge since you are in a foreign country. They're not gona be your typical psychotherapy client). Amazing garden terrace and love their open space everywhere (from lobby to the pool to your shower). Your room always smells like some sort of exotic flower. Breakfast is delicious especially their coconut jam! Awesome view of the ocean right at the pool! Same as bar and restaurant. You get more than what you pay for since it's a resort.

Cute individual cabins, come in forest, some along river (don't stay there) and some on ocean front. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice shuttle 10-1 every day for five minute ride to beautiful Long Beach. Good food, nice cool pool.
There were unoccupied beach front cabins while we were there - would have been a nice touch to courtesy upgrade us from our forest cabin with its steep climb for older people like us.
The resort has plans to renovate the cabins, changing windows and interior layout. I would spend the money instead to repurpose the bar area into a three or four bedroom house for large groups. The resort needs to achieve more critical mass to support its restaurant business and the bar seemed to always be deserted - restaurant could double as a bar in the later evening.
I would invest in a more reliable wifi system.
Branding is a problem - some signs say Moonlight Bay Resort and some say Moonlight Exotic Bay Resort. The former seems more modern.
Be more consistent on the breakfast buffet - every day of the three days we were there, there were items that they did not have due to running out of them.
Invest in more lounge chairs for guests - when the hotel is full there is too much competition for chairs - smacks of a discount resort, not a middle market resort.
This hotel is located mid-island which makes it a great choice for travelers wanting to have several options within walking distance, only minutes from market, massage or local restaurants. This is the most important issue when comparing to the Pimalai resort which is at the end to island and not convenient to local attractions without renting a motorbike. This hotel is well maintained with diverse international staff. Currently hotel is without a General Manager, therefore some staff issues need attention. A Western General Manager will bring the hotel back up to 5 star standards. Do not let that prevent from booking as value is very good

Lanta Island is a cultural melting pot. Chinese merchants live side-by-side with Thai fishing families. Nine beaches line the west coast, with Ban Saladan being the main centre for dive shops and dining. The island can be reached by ferry from both Krabi (2 hours) and Trang (2.5 hours).
