Comfortable stay in ideal location

Pros: Ideal location for Tatton Park
Staff at check-in were very friendly. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar on each of our three nights and the food and service were excellent.

Newly refurbished room was fabulous!

Pros: Easy to get to off M6 J20 a straight down A50. Nice restaurant and breakfast area. Nice private dining room.
Cons: If/when all the rooms get refurbished to the standard of my room it will be a great sta for anyone.
Location: Good garden centre/gift shop next door. We went further afield rather than local areas.
I stayed one night in a newly refurbished standard double room, which was very stylish and well designed, with lots of great touches - spacious L-shaped seating area; swivel flat-screen TV so you didn't have to sit on the (king-sized) bed to watch telly; interior lighting in the wardrobe; a decent hairdryer; good-sized counter-top/workspace/dressing table/mirror; great lighting; pod-style coffee machine (pity I don't drink coffe); fresh milk in the fridge; superbly styled bathroom with separate shower cubicle and double-headed shower. Couldn't fault any of it. I felt sorry for my friend who was staying for several days in a junior suite which was old-fashioned, jaded and faded. She was quite dismayed when she saw my room. Staff were very efficient and attentive. Didn't have time to take advantage of the spa facilities. Mobile phone signal was very poor in my room, but wifi was excellent.

Noisy door slamming constantly

Hotel did lovely little touches for children eg mini dressing gowns and milk and cookies at bedtime however we didn't get any sleep till 1am. There was a door slamming every few minutes somewhere near our room (235) and it was totally impossible to sleep. It wasn't a guest room door and we never did work out where it was (maybe staff quarters?) but it was incredibly noisy! We were particularly cross as we'd paid for an upgraded signature room

Disappointing stay

Overall disappointing. Finish of bathroom poor - even the bath plug not work and no maintenance staff! Bedside lights not work Dinner did not meet expectation and restaurant not that clean at Monday breakfast Spa and pool were great and parking easy. Staff were attentive and polite and helpful

Cottons stay

The rooms are OK but tired looking. Limited plug sockets nowhere near the bed. Had to sit in the bathroom to get any WiFi on my recent trip. Never had breakfast as £15 seems a bit overpriced. I travel to the area a lot on business and only stay here if the Mere golf resort is fully booked. Same price range but there is no comparison.

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear your comments from your resent stay, we are refurbishing our rooms each year and start in July to complete a further 50. We are installing USB and sockets next to each bedside as part of these works. You do have the option to book, room only, bed and breakfast at the time of booking which does represent savings if you book prior to arrival. Relax and unwind

Warm welcome, lovely breakfast, fabulous spa facilities, friendly guests & members who invited me to join the aqua aerobics class which was great. I had a really relaxing enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again.

Great hotel, great facilities

Great hotel. Friendly staff, lovely reception and bar area. Restaurant looking a little tired though, but only went in for breakfast. Bedroom very nice, althogh bed wasnt to my liking! Pool and spa facilities were very convenient and good quality. Would definately stay again.
