Welcome to The Lodges at Artlegarth - lodgebreaks (Swaledale Log Cabin). Situated in the picturesque Eden Valley, in the quaint village of Ravenstonedale, Cumbrian Lake District, you will discover our Luxury log cabins perfectly located in the world famous Lake District and set in a stunning fell (mountain) side location within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

There are six luxurious solid log cabins for you to experience 3 named after local Sheep breeds and 3 named after Birds seen locally, each is thoughtfully positioned with exceptional space in 7 acres of wooded and landscaped private grounds exclusive for guests use. The Lodges at Artlegarth offer a true secluded countryside log cabin experience and yet are within close proximity of three great food pubs within the village, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty in the National Park and described by Wainwright as one of
"Westmorland’s loveliest villages with the finest parish in the whole of Lakeland."
The 7 acre private grounds at Artlegarth are nestled at the foot of the Howgill and Wild Boar fells, providing the perfect base for exploring, outdoor pursuits or simply just enjoying the far reaching views from your cabin’s patio decking or private hot tub. Each solid wood cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for your luxury self catering getaway.

From the comfort of your Lodge there is an abundance of wildlife for you to admire including our native red squirrels, rabbits and occasionally deer along with a vast array of visiting birds for you to enjoy all year round.

You might choose to spend all your time relaxing, enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the natural surroundings or taking a short stroll to the local pubs to enjoy a delicious meal and sample the local beers and wines.

For guests of a more energetic persuasion, there is a wealth of countryside pursuits on the doorstep; scenic walks, fishing, golf, cycle routes, horse riding, bird watching, swimming and tennis courts. Day trippers will be in their element enjoying the scenery whilst exploring the National Parks, historic villages and market towns.

For those looking to venture a little further afield the border to the Scottish Highlands, cities of Liverpool and Manchester and both East and West coasts can all be reached within a 1.5 hour drive, making Artlegarth the perfect destination to explore this beautiful part of the United Kingdom.

Perfect getaway from it all
Every detail spot on. Beautiful furnishings, cosy environment with quality bedding, comfy beds and fluffy towels. Hot tub was amazing with great views. Home made cake and loaf with eggs and all essentials to get you started. Well equipped kitchen, fab showers and toiletries. Can’t fault in any way. Coming back soon.

Wonderful lodge in a wonderful location
The lodge was very comfortable and have everything you could need (except a salad bowl!) It was very clean - a real home from home. The location was stunning, it really is in the middle of nowhere, except the small village nearby where we found a lovely pub with fabulous food - The King's Head Ravonstonedale (not to be confused with the King's Arms in Kirkby Stephen). Miles and miles of breathtaking scenery. There's a manual in the lodge with things to do nearby, written by Jennie and Neil, and we did a wonderful walk - but very challenging, up a waterfall which I'd really recommend doing if you like a bit of a challenge - the views from the top were unbelievable. Can't wait to go back and see more!
