Dear "Anonymous",We take this opportunity to thank you and your family for staying with us and for your many verbal expressions of delight and appreciation of our accommodation, our garden, décor and for the Tropical Continental Breakfasts that we serve daily. You were gracious guests in every way and we particularly appreciated your flexibility by paying in cash when our card facility was not available. That the exchange rate quoted was initially incorrect by US2 was an oversight on our part and we thank you for making good on the difference of 37. We acknowledge your post stay letter confirming that your research into our country's tiered foreign exchange rate system concurs with our explanations to you.Every effort is being made to initiate your sound advice of incorporating that detail on our listing platforms to ensure that transparency is not only provided but also seen to be provided; this to avoid a reoccurence. Our kind regards to you and your family.Sincerely,Michelle (Neita).Owner/Manager.

Neita's Nest B&B exceeded my expectations for hospitality and service. Unique & appropriate recommendations (touristy & local) that provided for a memorable experience. The views surrounding the property are breathtaking and wrap around seating around the home prove ample space to sit and relax; enjoying the night-time breeze and birds chirping in the trees. My only recommendation would be to provide more comfortable seating options...hammocks perhaps? With Neita's Nest, I had peace of mind & a sense of security during the trip. A++

Our Dear Anonymous Guest, We are so very happy that you decided to spend your entire vacation in Jamaica with us, and are doubly delighted that you found peace of mind and a sense of security during your time at our homestay bed and breakfast in Kingston. You opted for a community tourism experience, and that is exactly what we offer. In fact, our tagline is "Why visit like a tourist when you can live with Jamaicans?" It is clear that you enjoyed our home as much as you enjoyed exploring our city and suburbs. Thank you for your recommendation. The garden furniture that was in your favourite spot is a new addition to our outdoor patio furniture. You will be pleased to know that we do have a hammock; we just have not hung it yet. Will send you a photo when we decide where; probably under the treehouse. What do you think? Thank you for staying and enjoying. Cheers, Michelle. .

Unique, spotless, small-scale, and homey. A different gourmet breakfast every day on the shaded veranda. When have you had smoked marlin? Calalou quiche? Rooms face the Blue Mountains and are cooled by nature. They connected me with a friend who collects orchids like me. Nearby restaurant Cellar 8 makes good veggie burgers and their own coconut ice cream!

Would you know, over the years, several guests have asked if the moutains that we face are the Blue Mountains. I have always said that they are much further back and out of out line of vision. It was not until a few months ago when I looked on a map showing the Blue and John Crow Mountains, that I realised that they border on the Hermitage Dam, just across from us. So yes, we do face the cooling Blue Mountains, which makes our view all the more special. With such a beautiful ambience, the tone is set for a calming, homey experience in our small bed and breakfast. We are only too happy that you found your experience to be unnique, our home to be spotless and our meals to be at the standard of "gourmet".. With our personal love for tasty meals, we are selective with our dinner recommendations. Cellar 8 fits the bill. Glad you enjoyed your experiencce here. Michelle.

Beautiful location in New Kingston
We loved our stay at Neita's Nest. Michelle, the manager was very personable and gave us the most comprehensive detailed instructions as to how to get to her place! She made us feel very welcome and at home and answered any questions we had regarding directions to places and where to eat etc. It was very much appreciated as we were tired after our long flight to Kingston. The B&B is situated in a most amazing place at the top of a mountain with a stunning view. We slept well!

Comfortable, safe accommodations, excellent views
Amazing views, loved the breakfast and evenings on the balcony. Beautiful plants on the property. Very private and very safe location. Property is gated and has a covered garage. Wonderful Host. I booked this property because I did not want to stay in a hotel and did not want to be in a heavily populated area and was not disappointed. Close proximity to stores but you have the piece and quite on the property and immediate neighborhood. The Host is very accommodating with dietary requests. Breakfast was always very delicious and fresh, a more modernized spin on the traditional Jamaican cuisine. I love to try the traditional food wherever I go to so this was a good experience. The property is very well maintained, clean and quiet. The sound carries and you may hear noises from afar at night but that's an interesting experience in itself. The night sounds of Jamaica... General tip for a tourist visiting Jamaica: have some patience, smile, slow down and enjoy. A fresh-made meal is worth waiting for. People are very nice and helpful. The property owner - Michelle has a vast knowledge of the area so ask her anything you want to know or are not sure about. We were a group of 3 female adults, opted for a car rental. It was my first time driving in Jamaica with the left side traffic, windy roads, multitude of potholes, some very deep. This may not be suitable for a first time visitor unless you have done something like this before. If you drive, take it slow and honk on windy roads.

Dear Magdalena, we appreciate you for taking the ime to write your review of your stay with us here at Neita's Nest, and for including such detail of our hospitality, service, meals and safety. Potential guests will find yours useful. For their benefit, in particular, I should clarify that ours is a private bed and breakfast. We offer a homestay-styled experience. To protect the safety, security and, indeed, privacy of our guests and household, we do not accept same day bookings. For that reason, we decidedly do not put up a sign at our gate. When guests book in advance, we immediately send directions; these our guests find accurate and helpful in all its detail. So Magdalena, you are indeed correct when you say that ours is a "very private location". We are glad that we fitted the bill for you in terms of being away from the more heavily populated areas of the city. Being in a suburban neighbourhood, we have a slightly rural look, feel and sound, while being just 5 minutes from the nearest commencial district, Manor Park. The garden is a work in progress and our part time gardener will be delighted when I share your feedback with him. We are located in the Stony Hill area, and you can well imagine the challenges of turning a rocky and sloping terrain into a colourful garden. We are pleased with the process, and thank you. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

Michelle, the owner, went out of her way to make my wife and i feel right at home. We got to know her and her family. They truly are caring people. She included us in some of her own get to gathers and scheduled events. We met some really nice people. With Michelle's help we experienced a true taste of Jamaica. Her place features great views and is quite comfortable. We highly recommend Neita's Nest for a really great Jamaican Experience.

Fantastic B&B
Wonderful B&B. Michelle and her team were so friendly and we felt like we left having made some great friends. We ate dinner here too and the food was outstanding. The views of the bird life and butterflies in the garden whilst eating breakfast was stunning. The rooms were really comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Michelle went out of her way to help us with bookings and things to do. She is definitely in the right business and her knowledge of Jamaican history was fantastic too!

Dear Megan, Thank you for taking the time to write your review of your stay with us. You spared no detail, and for that we are trulty appeciative, as it is to the details that prospective guests look in trying to find the kind of accommodation and service they want fro themselves. Our garden is even more lush and colourful this year with the kind weather we have been having, and the bird and butterflies still share the space. We are happy you enjoyed your stay, and hope you will be our guests again soon. Sincerely, Michelle.

Loved My Stay
I am not a B&B type of person but I really enjoyed by stay at Neita's Nest. The owner, her family, and her guest made my trip not only unique, but enjoyable. The owner goes out of her way to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. In addition to all of the above, the food was excellent! I am ready for my next stay in Kingston at Neita's Nest.

Dear JVV, We are delighted that you found inspiration here at Neita's Nest. We do claim to be an artist's haven, not as a promotional gimmick, but for the fact that painters, authors like yourself, film and television producers, researchers, photographers and song writers have all found their creativity flow effortlessly during their stay. We trust that you continue to find inspiration wherever you are, and that it will not take a writer's block to get you back here. Cheers, Michelle.

A True Jamaican Experience
My partner and I stayed for 2 nights at Neita's Nest in mid May as part of our travels around Jamaica and had a very pleasant time. Michelle, the owner of Neita's Nest, was fantastically helpful from beginning to finish. Michelle sat down with us on more than one occasion and spoke to us about Jamaica, it's history, culture and where to go whilst in Kingston, which was brilliant, especially if you want to try and have a more authentic experience and learn a little about the country. Michelle also helped arrange a food tour for us, which was interesting. The rooms were more than adequate and clean, whilst one of the highlight of the stays was the fresh local breakfast made for us and served out front on the veranda. The coffee is also one of the best we've had! In terms of location, the property is situated towards the top of a mountain, which is an interesting, very steep, drive if you do decide to hire a car, yet the views are pleasant. It took us 20 - 30 minutes to get down in to Kingston, outside of rush hour times and it took over an hour to get to Norman Manley airport. Overall, for the price and the cultured experience provided by Michelle, I'd strongly recommend this B&B to travellers visiting Kingston.

Con artist
No internet, no hot water, no food, poor shuttle service, no one else there other than the owner. The place is desolate and scary. Thee people are con artists. Do not go there.
Response from Michelle Neita on 21 Sept 2016
Dear Extremely upset, If my experience was like yours I would certainly write a review like you have. However, I wish to assure you, and the general public, that you did not stay at Neita's Nest. A quick glance at the reviews written here and elswhere over our past 6 1/2 years in operation will show that the far majority of our scores have been Very Good and Excellent; a strong suggestion that we are far from con artists. We do offer Free WiFi and it is available throughout all living spaces, and most garden spaces. In the event the service goes down, we offer external modems to our guests, at no charge. We offer hot and cold running water, and we offer a 2-Course breakfast consisting of fresh tropical fruit and a cooked meal. Fruit Juice, Assorted Teas, Freshly Perked Coffee, Breads and Spreads complete the daily service. We do not take same-day bookings so there is absolutely no way we would be taking a guest and not be prepared to deliver full service, including the optional dinner on request. We are a bed and breakfast service, and are mandated by our local authorities to serve a cooked meal. Neita's Nest is located in the city of Kingston, in a suburban residential area which is 5 minutes away from the nearest commercial centre. We are a tightly-knit community of about 200 individual homes, with gardens. We have a private community security service, street lights. Neita's Nest is a homestay-styled bed and breakfast, with a small family who lives here and hosts our guests. We have fulltime staff who live on property. There is never a time that guests are left alone. This has always been my personal standard for house guests plus, it is a requirement of our government. You can be assured that you did not stay with us. Michelle - Owner/Manager.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Everything was very clean, the common areas were tastefully decorated with interesting artwork and books, the food was local fare very beautifully presented, and the staff was most welcoming and gracious. The highlight was the proprietor sharing so much of her time to tell us about life in Jamaica as we dined on the veranda. I do not hesitate to highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

A taste of the real Jamaica
The setting of Neita's Nest is fabulous, set high above Kingston, with stunning views of the lush green hills and the city below, and yet not far from all the action. Our room was simply furnished, but had everything we required and the bed was very comfortable. The guest house is decorated in a cool and restful caribbean style, with works of art and decorative plants and in the lounge area there are many books including very interesting books about Jamaica to peruse. We did not eat dinner there, but the breakfast was delicious (especially the wonderful coffee) and was served on the verandah with the beautiful views all around us. The hostess is a mine of information about Jamaica and was advising and making arrangements for other guests to enable them to get the most from their holiday.

Neita's nest was beautiful. The views up in the hills were lovely. In the morning you can see the mist on the famed blue mountains, when it rains you can see the rain coming down from the mountain top and at night, the lights are breathtaking. The place is very hospitable, the owner looks after their guests (thanks Michelle!) very carefully. The location is secure but a bit far from activities up in the hill. The noices down from the valley can be a disturbance when jamaicans are having a party. For me, a bigger annoyance was a couple listening music and talent shows throughout my last night in common areas, unfortunately.

Anonymous, We are happy you found our offering hospitable, caring and secure. Your experience of noise coming from the common area was an unfortunate one and, I can assure you, a one-off. The same care that your received in all other areas will be extended to ensure that our guests are not disturbed after hours. Neita's Nest is billed as a place for quiet enjoyment, and this is what we have offered to our guests, with much success, over our past eight years. As far as community parties, especially over the holiday season, there is little we can do beyond trying to have the police enforce the law. The bar in the valley has been, for the most part, cooperative in that regard. You are very correct about our location being secure and some distance from activities; actually, a 5-minute drive from the nearest commercial centre, Manor Park. Being in the suburbs, as we are, secludes us and our guests from the majority of city noices and congestion. It is a trade off.

Grazioso Bed and Breakfast sulle alture di Kingsto
Abbiamo soggiornato tre notti presso questo Bed And Breakfast .
