Best staff. Got me anything I need. Port Royal only 200 yards away. Went there to eat and buy drinks and junk food. Ocean right there but had a pool outside my window. If needed anything took a bus which was only 1 us dollar.

In need of reno's

Posted 25-Oct-2015
Pros: Quiet,
Location: Close to airport and sight seeing historic forts
Well frrom the outside looks nice. room was spacious and bed was good. AC worked perfect and the doors to the balcony was like being in the 1700's. I liked it that way. There didn't seem to be any hot water for the shower and there was no where to put out your stuff on near the sink in the bathroom. Needed a stand to put luggage on. The bar looked nice but the charges for drinks were higher priced than should be for the area. i understand they need money to operate as business was low. The restaurant was under renovations and the menu was not the best. I did have the curried, pinapple chicken and it was very good. the breakfast is included with your stay but it is served not a buffet, it was ok. Staff was really nice. I think overall this place needs money to get it going it will be a nice quiet spot. No real complaints just too far from town for me. Good spot for checking the area history and being close to the airport.

Overall an OK hotel.

This is a relaxing spot. Not much happening, so maybe not the right place for young couples.

Old hotel convenient to the airport

Posted 15-Oct-2015
Pros: proximity to the airport
Cons: the room in its entirety
Location: close to Gloria's Seafood Restaurant - excellent
Some of the rooms are configured with very high windows: you get a view of the sky but that it is. In my room, the toilet would not flush properly and the shower plumbing leaked so much that the shower was more like a bird bath

Good for a short stay

Posted 06-Oct-2015
Pros: The breakfast was very good.
Cons: The water pressure, the bathroom need more towels and counter space, the room needs a garbage bin and an iron and ironing board.
Location: The location is safe, Bus 98 can take you down town Kingston for a low fare of 100.00 JA dollars compared to a taxi for $40.00 - 50.00 USD one way.
The location of the hotel is in Port Royal a very safe place to stay, it is also very close to the airport. It is a basic hotel, nothing luxurious for the nightly rate, there's a bar and restaurant in the back that overlooks the water. Rooms are clean but basic toiletries are not available, the water pressure is very low and the hot water does not function, there is no additional garbage bin besides the one in the bathroom, there is no countertop around the sink which makes it uncomfortable to use with limited towels to dry up the water that spills over the sink. Whenever it rains the hallway on the lower level accumulates a lot of water so the staff frequently has to sweep and mop to get the water out. The Wi-Fi is not reliable, if you absolutely need to have access to the internet this would not be a place to stay, there is a bus 98 that stops in front of the hotel that will take you to downtown Kingston or to and from the airport for $100.00 Jamaican dollars which is economical and convenient, taxi charges could be very high. Breakfast is free and served daily, there is no cash available to exchange foreign currency so it’s best to get some at the airport.

Decent stay close to the airport

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Pros: Close to the airport, historic location
Cons: A take away breakfast option for those leaving before 7am. There was a coffee pot with "tea and coffee condiments" but no actual tea/coffee.
Location: Port Royal is a shadow of its former glory and is now more a sleepy town , but you can still visit the historic Fort Charles and underwater ruins.
Room was clean and quiet, food was really good with a nice view of Kingston across the bay. You can't check in until 3pm (no flexibility so the only option is to go to the bar/restaurant), but it was easy to organise a taxi to the airport (15 min) for my morning flight. While breakfast was included, it doesn't open until 7am so for those leaving early there was none (a take away breakfast option would have been good). I'd recommend it as a reasonably priced option close to the airport.

We missed our flight to Montego Bay so we flew into Kingston and overnighted.
