The neighborhood is peaceful and being right on the canal was a plus. The guys loved it because they could fish in the back yard. Everything was as described and each room was in great condition. The back deck had comfortable furniture and access to kayaks, a paddle board, the canal, and a hot tub. We got great pics of the sunset and enjoyed relaxing outside occasionally during our stay. We had a few tiny issues that were likely caused by the owners updating the property like having the toilet paper holder fall off in the half bath and some midges getting in from an upstairs window needing caulking (we came when they tend to be active in OBX), but when I communicated this, the hosts immediately responded and offered to fix things right away. We didn't take up the offer since we weren't staying too long and they really weren't problems that affected us in any meaningful way. I used to work in service (now I'm in healthcare) and I know how hard people can be to please and how hard we try anyway so I always try to give grace and not be a pain.We were so happy to have a safe, friendly community to stay in with close access to everywhere we wanted to go (up to Duck, around Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, and down to Nag's Head and Manteo) with a hot tub waiting for us to relax in when we got "home".It was me, my husband, teen, and two middle school boys, one of whom said this was his favorite family trip.
