Druids Glen Resort is 4km from Newtownmountkennedy, 3km from the seaside village of Kilcoole and 9km from the very popular harbour town of Greystones.

In Greystones you will find a number of award-winning cafes and restaurants include the Happy Pear Cafe and The Hungry Monk Restaurant. This attractive coastal town has a wide variety of shops, pubs and sport facilities as well as a picturesque little harbour. You can also leave the car here and catch the suburban train DART into Dublin for a day’s shopping or sightseeing without the hassle of having to find parking.

You have the best of both worlds’ being in a rural, tranquil setting yet within easy reach of the scenic Wicklow Mountains and the sandy dunes of Brittas Bay Beach.

There is also plenty for children to do in the area with horse riding widely available, Glenroe Open Farm, and amusements, a bowling alley and an aquarium at the traditional seaside resort of Bray.

For another fantastic day out venture to Splash Valley, a new aqua-park which opened in Hidden Valley Holiday Park in Rathdrum in County Wicklow. The 1,800-square-metre park includes some 30 obstacles arranged around a small, manmade lake. Splash Valley is open to day-visitors, with hour-long slots priced at €20 for adults and €17 for kids. Before your arrival at the park you need to complete the Waiver, which is emailed to you after you complete your online booking. To participate you need to be aged 7 or over, and at least 110cm tall, for the aqua park. The park is a 27-minute drive from Woodstock Demesne Holiday Homes and it's advisable to arrive 30 minutes early to get checked in and get your wristbands, wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aids on. Sessions include a 10- provided, but you can bring your own wetsuit if you wish. You’ll need togs to wear under wetsuits and towels for changing. Another unique outdoor adventure park located in County Wicklow is Clara Lara Fun Park. It provides a healthy and creative fun day out for families and groups of children. Cara Lara is located on 30 acres of beautiful countryside in the Avonmore River valley with tree houses, Tarzan swings, rope bridges, rowing boats, water slides, rafts, canoes and junior go-carts. The lakes are all man made with a flat gravel bottom and approximately 2 feet deep. You will love the breath-taking aqua shuttle - the biggest water slide in Ireland. Other activities include mini golf, miles of hill walking through the spectacular countryside and a junior playground. There is a picnic restaurant which services a range of hot and cold food and an extensive riverside picnic area with barbecues.
