Updated, clean Three Bed/Two bath condo! Sleeps 8 With Hawaiian architecture at it’s best, Koa Resort will give you the feel of vintage Hawaii. The resort is immaculately maintained, with beautifully landscaped grounds, palm trees swaying overhead and gorgeous flowering plants all around. What sets Koa Resort apart from other condos on the island is that it boasts one of the largest pool in all of South Maui. You will truly feel in paradise when you enjoy an evening soak in the hot tub with the palms swaying overhead. Beautifully refinished tennis courts are also on the property as well as BBQ grills to cook your evening meals. Our newly renovated condo includes 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It comes fully furnished to meet all of your vacation needs. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils and appliances. Enjoy dinner at the large dining table inside and your evening beverage on the palm-shaded lanai. Outside of the standard amenities, we also supply beach towels and beach chairs. Directly across from Koa Resort is the longest beach on Maui, Sugar Beach. With a nearly 5 miles stretch of continuous sand, Sugar Beach is a great beach for a morning run or a romantic evening walk. In the mornings, the snorkeling off of Sugar Beach is one of the best kept secrets in all of Maui. Only 50-100 yards off shore you can see colorful coral, marine life, and if you’re lucky, the famous Maui Hanu (turtle). Located just a few minutes drive are grocery stores and restaurants. Costco and the airport are a short 20 min drive away. Kihei is also a great central location for any of your day trips around the island. This allowed us to have a lunchtime bbq in the picnic area. All the public areas of the complex were spotless. The property manager for Koa Resorts was super helpful. We enjoyed evening walks to the beach due to the close proximity. We got locked out of the property and even though he does not manage the unit we rented, he reached out to the host on our behalf. There were a lot of things that didn’t work. The light and fan in the living area didn’t work, the hall light didn’t work, the windows didn’t open and close- many of the knobs were stripped, the blinds in some of the rooms didn’t open and there was no way to pull them up to let the air blow through the unit, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. We enjoyed the pool and sitting on the lanai at night. The kitchen was pretty nice and we appreciated the ice from the refrigerator. The bunk beds were good and the bathrooms were nice. One of the double beds was not very comfortable, but we were so busy exploring the amazing island each day that sleep still came quickly! However, it could benefit from some small additional touches to enhance the overall experience (in the check-in, be more clear as to which unit it is upon arrival as we initially walked the wrong way from the parking lot and spent 10 minutes wandering the complex after a midnight arrival, some electrical outlets that look unsafe in one bedroom, provide enough cloths to do dishes and enough pillowcases for all pillows… a small bag of coffee for day 1 would be a simple touch too). All appliances worked well, though the dryer knob is finicky. There is a nice sized kitchen to prepare food and the BBQs were great! The highlight was undoubtedly the pool, which provided a refreshing and enjoyable way to relax each day. We enjoyed the use of the tennis court too, along with the provided racquets. The location was great and a short drive to shops and a central location to drive to other Maui highlights. The remodel that was done was fine for a rental visit, but the gaps in the floor boards uneven tile in the shower and the drawer that didn't open in the kitchen because it hit the stove would drive me crazy if I lived their full time. The beach toys/chairs/umbrellas in the chest outside were great. The unit is on the 2nd floor, so keep that in mind. The grounds were great, we used the BBQs, table tennis, pool and tennis courts. Easy to park, and they had a rolling cart to help you get your items to and from your unit. The unit had no laundry soap, or condiments, just a few spices in the cabinet. If you need more than that then be prepared to stop at Target for additional supplies. We can never figure out how to get the back sliding door to lock (just couldn't find a lock or lever) and there were no curtains leaving you somewhat exposed in the evening. Overall good stay for our extended family of 8 who ate/prepped every meal in the unit. The kitchen and dining space was lovely to have and big enough for us as well. We really appreciated having beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler to use during our stay. We hardly had to use the air conditioner as the fans were sufficient enough in circulating air. The flooring had gaps in it though where a few of the pieces didn’t connect, a few of us tripped on it in the kitchen. The host was slow to respond to messages, requiring us to send a follow up message a few days later, but she promptly responded after that. The beach nearby is quite rocky, but nicer beaches were a short drive away. The pool at the complex was very nice and well maintained. ##### Hayley M. We had to do work during our stay so it was nice to have good working WiFi. Family had a good time with the facilities Ping Pong, Tennis, and Pool. Super close to the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Kitchen was equipped with all your cooking necessities and Balcony was super enjoyable in the morning and at night. Only items that came up were the property turned off the water during our stay without proper notification. It unfortunately happened after we just got back from an early morning surf and we were in the shower. Not the Hosts fault but the property management needs to notify people a little better like knocking on doors and leaving notes on unites. It is also important for people to know that the bunk beds are literally on the floor. It’s good for little ones under 10 but a little uncomfortable for teenagers that are a little taller.
