"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"My husband and I came here for our 2 year anniversary and I just have to stay that this resort is beyond beautiful. The food in the Olive restaurant was fantastic and offered many options! Both pools are extremely clean and well kept, they were cold only because we came at a little bit of a colder time. "Fantastic rooms ,everywhere is spotlessly clean ,comfiest sunbeds ever.Great pool to relax and only 5mins walk to everything. What makes this a great hotel is the host George and his family who run it. They genuinely care and can't do enough for you .. Filia at the bar and his wife are lovely. George is a fantastic cook so be sure to ask for food not on the snack menu. We will most definitely be back."

"The front desk staff were wonderful. Nearly all service staff were rude and unhelpful with a few of exceptions. There are cultural differences I expect to navigate but they were rude, ignored us constantly and honestly made the experience unenjoyable. The breakfast buffet was amazing and that staff was great and kind. Everything was very clean. The included classes offered aren’t all week so we could not partake as it’s only offered 4 (I think) of the 7 days. Food was very tasty but it’s silly to pay 18euro for a diluted drink, just because you are at a resort."

"The hotel is nice and clean with some good restaurants and bars. The Lemongrass Asian restaurant is especially good for sushi. The staff are friendly. During our stay the majority of guests were either young families with small children or couples aged 60+ so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. The spa is good, however the staff had a very “hard sell” approach when trying to get you to book treatments, which we felt slightly off putting. They also didn’t have a price list and seemed to make them up on the spot. The resort the hotel is situated in has a lot on offer though, and the beaches are great."

"We enjoyed our stay at Village Heights Resort. The staff were amazing and looked after us well. The food was great, with plenty of choice to choose from, including the variety of restaurants they have. Rooms were of good size and were cleaned daily. Only downside was the bathrooms could be modernised. Good views of the sea. The free shuttle bus from the hotel to the centre of Hersonissos was very helpful. The hotel also had lots of entertainment on offer, particularly the Cretan Night, where they had live music and a dancing show. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to relax and be away from the centre of it all."
