Wonderful resort within walking distance of little shops and other nice places to eat. Plenty of other activities available for booking at the tour desk on the island. Would definitely come back.

Top notch hotel with great views

Posted 12-Oct-2017
Pros: The pools and lay out chairs
Cons: The room had a musky smell
Location: Great location to all the action of Duvall street, but far enough away to be quite. Don't need a car, you can walk to everything.
This hotel is top of the line in key west, great staff, very clean grounds. We had a ocean front room, great views. The room was a little small but we were on vacation so we were outside 90% of the stay. All the pools are top notch, clean fully stocked with towels and lay out chairs are great!

Hotel not officially open from hurricane.

Posted 09-Oct-2017
I was charged full price and an additional upgrade price for a nicer room and the hotel is not 100% officially re-opened. There is no beach, streets are still flooded and damage not repaired yet. Please explain this to your guests and give them the option to cancel their reservation or re-schedule. I paid very close to a 1000.00 for 2 nights w no discounts or warning of the conditions at hotel. Very disappointed. I understand you need tourism and the money but I gladly would have the-scheduled for another time when we ( the consumer) could have had an opportunity to enjoy our stay versus wasting a lot of money on a hotel that’s not repaired.

Hurricane Irma

Posted 14-Sep-2017
Unfortunatly, our 5 day stay turned into one and a half days due to hurricane Irma. However the staff remained extremely calm and professional. The rooms and property were beautiful. The food was excellent and the staff even more so. We got out two days before evacuation. Our only hope is the entire staff is safe and that amazing property survived.

Nice hotel for the price.

Posted 13-Sep-2017
Pros: Affordable, clean, and comfortable.
Location: Walk or bike to everything.
The bed was comfortable, but no room service. I was not too happy with the location of our room, but I guess you need to pay extra for a beach view.

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. Not much beach

Posted 12-Sep-2017
Pros: Great location and easy access to everything.
This was my first visit to Key West and it was great. We were unfortunately interrupted by Hurricane Irma but there is not much anyone could do about that. My only issue with this hotel came when there was a mandatory evacuation for all non-residents. The hotel did not communicate this at all and once it started we were pretty much on our own. I will say that the concierge, Jules, was extremely friendly and helpful. She tried her best to help us out but by the time we were notified by the hotel that we had to leave, there were no rental cars available. Overall the hotel was very nice. They had a lot to deal with during the evacuation so it was not that big of a deal. I will definitely return!

Dear Glen, Thank you for your recent stay with us. I am glad you enjoyed your vacation at the Southernmost Beach Resort. With 3 pools, 2 beaches, and endless activities, we have the perfect resort for having fun and relaxation! However, the weather unfortunately interrupted your stay, Mother Nature being both unpredictable and unforgiving! It certainly was a difficult situation for all involved and we hope you will return to us to enjoy the full SOMO experience here in Key West! Always at your service, Matthew Babich General Manager

Beautiful hotel

Posted 10-Sep-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful accommodations, and very clean.
Location: Perfect location and within waling distance to pretty much everything.
Everything was perfect. The resort is gorgeous. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the tranquility pool and felt like our own private bungalow. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. Our A/C was broken and within 10 minutes of letting the front desk know someone was in our room fixing it. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to friends and family.

Nice start, bad ending

Posted 09-Sep-2017
Pros: Quiet location, comfortable beds & well kept grounds.
Cons: Housekeeping should come before 3-4pm. Better training of reception desk staff is needed, seems to be run by college kids, not professionals.
Location: Quiet area within walking distance (20 minutes) of of all the attractions on Duval Street.
Unfortunate timing withe the hurricane coming, which they handled very poorly. No communication even though they take cell phone & email information at check-in. We heard about the evacuation in town, asked the front desk about it at 3pm, and were told we had to leave by 11am the next morning. They offered no assistance on how to get out, even when asked. They pointed to the printed paper on the counter that said it was a mandatory evacuation with hurricane conditions. The local restaurants (workers & customers) were much more compassionate, accommodating, giving ideas and information on how to get out, and equally horrified by stories from guests at the Southernmost Beach Resort. Nice resort if there are no problems, but they seem ill-equipped to handle anything out of the ordinary.

Dear Traveler, Thank you for your recent stay with us. Mother Nature is as unpredictable as it is unfortunate, I apologize your stay was cut short by Hurricane Irma. We are at the mercy of city officials regarding evacuation procedures and the timing in which the information is given, this did present transportations challenges for guests and island residents as well. I am happy to say that we were very fortunate during the storm and our Resort is as beautiful as ever. I do hope that you return to our, normally, sunny island paradise soon!
