Great stay at this hotel. Lovely walk into the city through the beautiful riverside gardens. Great location for a day at Dover Cliffs which we absolutely loved and we escaped the rain the whole day! We would stay here again. Staff were great friendly and helpful

The hotel is a 20 min level walk from the station. If driving by car well sited on major road junction. The hotel has good facilities with a bar and a good menu if you want to eat at the hotel - breakfast is very good value. The staff are very friendly and any issues were sorted with no fuss. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes walk from the centre of Canterbury. The room was well equipped and good value for money. I would recommend the hotel as well worth considering if it meets your requirements of a stay just outside the centre of Canterbury ( a wonderful city to visit)

The hotel is just outside the centre of Canterbury in a good location to visit other local towns such as Faversham, Whitstable and Herne Bay. It is an old property with no lift to access upper floors. Our room was adequate but so narrow that there was hardly room to walk around the end of the bed. Other than that, it was fine. The bathroom was a good size with an over-bath shower. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant.

A decent place for an overnight stay while visiting Canterbury. It’s a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral and not a 5 minute one as I thought.

Room overlooked garden where there was outdoor seating. We like to sleep with a window ajar, stayed in March so it was empty and very quiet. The rooms are at the back of the property so there was no traffic noise.

Everything was amazing. Room was spotless, had everything you needed right down to the nice little touch of biscuits and hot chocolate sachets. Staff couldnt do enough for you even giving you a map and telling you the best way to get into town. Breakfast was amazing! None of that dried up stuff as every hot breakfast is cooked to order. Continental was very good too just check out the size of their pain au chocolat. The hotel has a carvery and steaks, i had carvery twice whilst i was there. Amazing staff, food, cleanliness in fact i cannot think of one bad thing to pick up on. It is a 10 minute walk into town but if you go via queens avenue and walk through the gardens it is a very pretty walk and brings you out on the main long shopping street which if just keep walking straight down takes you to the bus station from where i actually caught a bus to Herne Bay for just 2 pounds. I would absolutely go back to this hotel when i next visit. Don't let the fact that it's next to a busy road put you off as you can't hear any traffic once in your room. Thanks to all for a very lovely stay - see you again soon!

My hotel room was beautiful and convenient. Staffs were friendly and was provided with more info regarding the area. Also the bar staff (male) was very helpful as I had dropped £10 while ordering drinks and he was really kind to hold it and rerurned back to me. Foods were fresh and homemade. Thank you

The facilities are just ok. It may have been renovated recently but it was done cheaply (tiles glued on tiles in bathroom) and with no attention to detail, it started outdating already. Remote control for TV was very dirty, windows had mould on frames. It wasn’t bad but we definitely will not be staying there again. On the other hand we liked food and staff was really nice. The staff is dedicated to their job. Restaurant is very nicely decorated but toilets in the bar leave a lot to wish for.

Absolutely filthy room. Manager unwilling to clean or move to another room. BUGS in the bed biting me all night. Stains, pubic hairs, and dead bugs on the bed sheets. Food sucks and far too long of a walk into town. Would never stay at this filthy place again.

Excellent customer service
This is a really great hotel. The service was excellent and particularly friendly from all staff. Reception was very helpful with helping our group with an early check in, our bags were dropped into our respective rooms. Nice large bar & dining area. With just a 10 minute walk into the town centre this suited our group perfectly.

Very happy with stay. The receptionist was extremely helpful and couldn’t do more to be helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. No complaints. Would stay again when in the area again.

This place is great value, the large rooms are very comfortable, beds are great, biscuits and hot drinks in room too. Restaurant open all day for meals or bar snacks.

Ideal place to stay for a simple 2 night stay in Canterbury. 10 minute walk into town, 15 minutes to the Cathedral. Big enough room, comfortable bed, powerful shower. Food and drinks reasonably priced.

Great hotel for those thinking of staying in Canterbury. Only 15 minutes walk to the city centre. Room was quiet, staff were very good. Ate in on all three evenings, and had some really nice food, even a carvery on one evening. Breakfast choices were also excellent.

Overnight stay to visit cathedral
Good location, ample parking, friendly staff, food excellent, room clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend, We had bed and breakfast but also tried the carvery for our evening meal. Quality of food for both meals was excellent and you won’t go hungry.

An absolute delight to have stumbled across this " gem in the crown of Canterbury " A last minute booking. Food was amazing. family run business with friendly, helpful staff. A brisk 20 minute walk into the town with two different routes.Parking was free, with ample spaces for around 50 vehicles. Our stay was for 3 nights and included free breakfast. Couldn't have asked for any more from our short break. Love to return in the summer.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and attentive, even offering to look after our baby so that I could eat my dinner. The food (we ate both an evening meal and breakfast) was very good and a good price. The hotel is quite old so doorways and corridors are narrow and there isn’t a lift, which made our access to the first floor tricky with a push chair - next time we will be sure to ask for a ground floor room. The room was large, clean and tidy. There was a strange collection of flies in the corridor leading from reception to the rooms, which wasn’t the best first impression and not pleasant to walk through when emptying the car and accessing the rest of the hotel. There wasn’t anything obvious that they were attracted to and all other areas were clean so we wrote it off as a strange one-off! Biscuits and hot chocolate sachets as well as the usual tea and coffee were a great addition in the rooms too! On site parking was a huge benefit and there was plenty of space. We would stay here again.
