Nice hotel, close to Dover ferry port.

Posted 26-Aug-2016
Pros: Hotel staff are very courteous, swift check-in and check-out. A good location. clean rooms.
Cons: The only item missing, which would have been a huge bonus when we stayed, was air conditioning.
Location: Cannot comment on 'things to do' as we stayed at the hotel as a stopover for an early morning ferry journey.
A really nice hotel. A short distance from the ferry port of Dover, making this hotel an ideal stopover for a ferry journey. Hotel has a restaurant, coffee bar and a bar serving drinks and bar food. Would definitely stay here again if an early morning ferry crossing was booked. Hotel staff are very pleasant and courteous. Check-in and check-out are very fast. Restaurant and bar were described thoroughly upon arrival. Air conditioning would have been a huge bonus as room was too hot. A fan was provided.

Handy for Dover only 2 miles away

Posted 10-Aug-2016
Pros: Handy for sightseeing.
Cons: Need air con
Location: Dover Castle, Canterbury.
It was very hot in room even though we had fan on and window open all night no air con. As next to main road very noisey . Hair dryer didn't work and carpet hadn't been hovered.

Handy on the way to france

Posted 05-Aug-2016
Pros: Convenient for port
Cons: Not cheap
A few minutes for the port. Decent enough hotel....nothing in the immediate vicinity apart from a garage with a spar shop. Food at the bar was fine. probably a good wedding venue...seemed to have a big marquee in the back. We had family room with two queen beds. Plenty of room.

Großes Hotel an Ausfallstrasse Richtung Canterbury

Posted 01-Aug-2016

A nice step up from a travelodge!

Posted 28-Jul-2016
We arrived late and left early as we were on our way to France, but the hotel had a really friendly vibe, there was a girl playing guitar and singing in the bar which was nice to relax in before bed, reception was friendly and helpful - no problems at all. We would liked to have had a bit longer to use the mini gym and enjoy the facilities more but we're happy with what we experienced. The room was very well equipped with trouser press, iron and ironing board etc .

Rooms in desperate need of a refresh

Posted 28-May-2016 on Hotels
Room was smelly as entered the room, lots of stains on the carpet. Lots of marks on the wall and generally need a complete refresh. There were hairs in the bath too. Free parking advitised but limited and many peopl could not get parked. Bar was ok and food there ok.

Dear Simon Thank you for your review and the observations therein. Can I firstly apologize for the error you discovered in the lack of cleaning, this is not acceptable and I will be taking your comments up with the housekeeping contractors. With regards to the decor of the room, we are in the process of refurbishing all of the bedrooms within the hotel, and have to date completed about a third of these. I hope you will be able to use our services again the next time you are in this area and I will ensure you are given a newly refurbished room so you can see the standard we are now delivering. Once again, thank you for your feedback and I do hope I will be able to welcome you back in the future Kind regards Neil

Nice hotel in the country near Dover

Posted 24-May-2016 on Orbitz
Pros: The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
Cons: I stayed at the Ramada previously. In the meantime the condition of the facilities has deteriorated somewhat. The roof needs need attention.
Location: The hotel is located in the countryside near the port of Dover. It is convenient to Dover and Canterbury.
The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I stayed at this Ramada about ten years ago. Since then the condition of the facilities has deteriorated somewhat. Most notably, the roof needs some attention.

Nice hotel, little run down in the room, but more than adequate for overnight stay to catch ferry.
