Business trip

Posted 18-Nov-2016
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, room was clean and shower excellent
Cons: Mattress quality. TV Quality had issues wit my remote, so did my business friend in his room.
Location: Near Maidstone City centre and good for surrounding areas. We used the Buenos Aires Argentinan Steak House - very good
Used this as a base for a business trip to Maidstone. great value for money, I paid £52 per room inc breakfast.

Very pleasant stay - lovely hotel building, good quality room fittings, spacious and comfortable room. Great facilities - bar and restaurants. Good menu choice and good food - also quite good value. Great place to stay - well recommended.

clean room but hotel soulless

Posted 26-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Best thing about the hotel is the frontage, but hotel soulless and more like a school dormitory and considering hotel seemed within the grounds of a school, seems appropriate. Room pleasant and clean and shower worked well. Bar food basic fare and if you want the haddock for breakfast ask for a double portion as I had the smallest fillet ever presented to me.

Unfortunately poor stay

Posted 04-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Positives: Good breakfast. Shower was very nice. Well-appointed bathroom. Friendly staff. Negatives: Unfortunately I had a poor experience at Oakwood house. The hotel is in the center of school grounds and is difficult to locate. It turns out that on the night of my stay there was also a School Prom. I had ordered a double room and was provided a Twin located next to the location of the Prom. The Prom ended Midnight. The TV remote did not work in the room. There was dust on the headboard above the bed. I spoke to reception and was told that the hotel was fully booked and they were unable to relocate me away from the Prom or into a double room. The beds were also not particularly comfortable, so all in all I did not have a great night’s sleep. The Restaurant was empty, and I had to wait for staff to be moved from the Bar to take my order, even though I had pre booked the table. The food was not of a great standard, with small portions for the price. Not a great experience.

Staying on Business, the checking in was nice and straight forward with extremely friendly and polite ladies. New receptionist Nicky was very good.
