The proximity of the Hotel to Cliffends, near Ramsgate town centre, makes an interesting historical story about Hengist and Horsa landed near here in 410AD, and St Augustine in 597. The Hotel is also not far from the neighbouring City of Canterbury & Sandwich town. It is half an hour from Dover. The breakfast is excellent. The Hotel also make provision for "To Go" breakfast, if guests are not able to sit to eat.

Plus points - big bed , clean, nice bathroom, staff provided good service & the location to get out to places is good (although not much by foot ) Bad- was very busy during breakfast period & it was chaotic food was running out & meant left with cold food , have to order veggie sausages & when you go to collect food half of it's missing or cold. I'm sure it works better when quiet but isn't great when busy (bank hols) Major thing is they charge £20 for a dog , despite our dog being in a crate so unable to damage anything in the room ( she's 12 & travelled many places) never damaged or messed indoors. £60 for 3 nights is the most expensive I've ever paid. They don't provide anything for this i.e doggy towels , treats etc It has some good points but I wouldn't stay here again for over £100 per night

This holiday inn was lovely. We ate out at smugglers retreat across from the hotel and food was great. Bed linen and towels were good quality. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning. Both of us slept well. Would recommend to others. McDonald’s close by if you have youngsters.

Was a nice clean room, comfortable bed, bathroom and shower were nice and clean and well maintained. Breakfast was standard for a hotel chain, but plenty of variety and well stocked. Overall lovely stay. Only downside was very little milk in the room for tea/coffee and was difficult to find the entrance, not very easy to spot from the road.

Lovely check in staff, room was great, so clean and modern. comfortable bed, nice breakfast. plenty of parking. Only downfall was getting woken up by some guys having a brawl in the car park and again woken up at 4am until 5am by same guys chatting very loudly to someone or 2 on the phone, heard every word! annoying to say the least as not much sleep was had!!

The hotel it’s self is very good, staff are very helpful and supportive. I didn’t sleep well, for me the mattress that’s (both) were hard and springy and I felt every spring. Woke up with a crocked neck. But everything else was great.
