"Excellent location and excellent food."
Spoiled by 2 things. The hotel lift was broken for our 3 days in the hotel. We had to climb several flights of stairs with bags. Hotel provides only duvets. Despite advanced request it could not provide blankets for our bed. Finally lighting choice in room was poor.

"The Falstaff Hotel, Canterbury. Close to Town."
My Wife & I stayed at the Falstaff Hotel Canterbury over the Christmas period, (22 - 27 Dec 2016), in order to visit family living in Kent. The hotel location is indeed perfect. We stayed in room 53 in The Old Woodmill annex. We understand these rooms are pending refurbishment and are at present tired but adequate. The bed is a great size and very comfortable. We did have problems with water and heating on two occasions. These were rectified in very quick time by staff when reported. The Hotel itself has been refurbished and is busy during the day and the evenings in particular. It is a very nice place and is very popular. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The choice of breakfast is very good indeed. The standard of service is excellent. There is also great private, secure parking at this hotel. The Falstaff Hotel was a great choice for our stay. I fully recommend it as a location of choice and will stay here again.

"Large and comfortable room, lovely restaurant"
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would happily stay there again. The room was large, with good facilities, and the bed comfortable. The hotel has a lovely restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal. The restaurant adds 10% service charge, but we always tip anyway so I just treated that as our tip. The service was excellent, friendly and polite, so they deserved a good tip!

"Good central position in the town"
Few complaints. Radiator not working. Man came to fix but still not working. Used portable heater in wardrobe. Large Crack in hand basin. Few bits of litter in room e.g. Silver confetti, tiny tissue on floor in bathroom . Breakfast a bit slow coming. Despite these things it is a very pleasant hotel.

Whether you're coming to Kent for business or purely leisure purposes, booking into one of Kent's many historic hotels will allow quick and easy access to attractions such as galleries, museums and cathedrals. Additionally, your accommodation may have great historic resonance itself, with many of Kent's hotels housed in castles, old manor houses and half-timbered buildings from the 17th Century or earlier. Whether your Kent historic hotel is in a city centre mansion or a medieval farmhouse in the countryside, this will add a certain frisson to your stay. Cities like Dover and Canterbury are so ancient that historic hotels are often the norm and you may well find yourself staying in one without especially intending to!
