Would stay there again

This is an excellent hotel. Business conferences and such. Room small, but very well furnished with upscale modern decor. The restaurant was excellent and the included breakfast was excellent as well. Only "shortcoming" was limited number of wall plugs - especially near the beds. Beautiful grounds and golf course.

Country luxury

Wonderful location but proximity to the motorway is a negative if you get a room facing the front of the hotel (we didn't thank goodness). The buildings are beautiful and gracious. Staff are very attentive. Stairs to our room in the mews need a good scrub. They are quite steep and would be a challenge if you are taking big cases up to your room.

Single night summer stay

The purpose of the single night stay was for a birthday getaway and it certainly wasn't a let down. The hotel is located in a very nice rural setting (although traffic from the M20 is a constant hum in the background) and very nicely set out. The staff were exceptionally welcoming upon arrival and check in went very smoothly and quickly. We were guided to our room which was a bit small considering the price paid of just over £200 per night but very comfortable nonetheless. The only disappointment was that there was no stand up shower but just a bath. The hotel decor was amazing with individually themed rooms to explore all with different styles. The food was great although having initially seen what was on offer at the Culpeppers restaurant and the prices we decided on the less formal arrangement of taking dinner in the lounge bar instead. The service received was exemplary as was the food. If there was perhaps one suggestion I could make with regards to the menu it would be to expand the vegetarian option or at least highlight in the menu that the chef would consider vegetarian options of the existing dishes on offer. We had booked a B&B option and had a vegetarian and full English breakfast which was again great. Having breakfast in a room that wouldn’t have looked out of place from an episode of Downton Abbey was sort of surreal but very enjoyable. Overall a great hotel and worth a visit.

Very elegant countryside hotel.

Pros: Restaurant and bar with plenty of charm but slow service.
Cons: Room temperature and decorations.
Location: Good location and a perfect list of things to do in your room.
Perfect for one night but avoid the weekend !!! (weddings)
