A lovely old mansion house with plenty of character. We were gory enough to stay in one of the renovated bedrooms which was spacious and clean. Some of the areas of the hotel required modernising and updating but I imagine this was part of the current works. Food was tasty and the grounds well-kept. We would happily return.

Broome Park Hotel
The hotel was very grand with thick carved wooden doors, wood panelling, open fires and wide sweeping staircases. Our room was immaculate and luxurious with shabby chic furniture and a modern bathroom. However we were disappointed to discover the swimming pool was closed, after we had booked a non-refurbished room. Dinner at the hotel was nouveau cuisine and quite expensive. The TV remote had no numbers on it and it took a while to figure out how to get any programs. We were woken at 7 by drilling noise from the room above- this increased and included hammering from 8. The shower seemed very complicated- water coming from both heads at once and freezing cold. We did manage in the end but only after soaking the bathroom floor. Breakfast was excellent but we were surprised to find that checkout time was 10 o’clock

We arrived late in the dark. Hard to find the reception and lodge. Need some serious lighting around the lodges and parking areas. Someone already in our parking space. Stayed in lodge 9. Curtains in the main living room had lots of stains. Sette had stains, the chairs to the dinning table stained and dirty with food. Need a good clean. Main bedroom blind broken. A bit disappointed with this, as it let the lodge down.

Very peaceful hotel with beautiful grounds. Perfect for an over nighter of you are channel hopping and want to break the trip up. The lodges are highly recommended

Not sure we would return....
Beautiful period house but very tired in parts and not attention to detail with cleaning - dust in corners, etc. Room was extremely dated and needed a total overhaul, was a bit grubby with old, dirty mastic in bathroom, loose tiles, leaking shower screen, broken toilet seat. However, it did appear to be clean. Breakfast was ok but some hot buffet items only just warm. Staff were all helpful and friendly.

Both staff I encountered were extremely polite and helpful. All the places to eat at the hotel and surrounding areas closed at 9 even though websites stated much later, so either get something earlier or stop at a gas station on your way in if you are traveling long distances. Property was beautiful. Check out is 10. We got there late and left early, but I would go back for longer.

Spectacular building, excellent welcome and check in. Friendly, helpful staff. Food fine. Bar needs more staff at busy times. Bedroom disappointing! Uncomfortable bed, tiny shower and so noisy! In need of total refurbishment. The standard of our room is the only thing that would stop us returning.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and had fabulous facilities. The building is truly amazing. Our room was tired but they are updating so the score could and should be higher. Meals were good but seemed short staffed and a bit frantic. We will be back.

Lodge 7: Vintage Charm (Read: Wear & Tear)!
Upon our arrival at Lodge 7, the exterior gave a promising first impression. However, our stay was overshadowed by a series of disappointments. An unsettling whining noise from the master bedroom en suite was not only disturbing but also audible from outside. The mismatched TV remote in the lounge was a minor inconvenience, but it highlighted a lack of attention to detail. Several light bulbs were out, and the overall condition of the lodge was tatty and worn. The bathroom door failed to close properly, the sofa bed was visibly dirty, the skirting boards were rotting, and the rubber seal was hanging off the main bathroom shower. While we chose not to complain due to our early departure for the Eurotunnel at 5am, it's worth noting our dissatisfaction with the shabby state of the accommodation. We had hoped for a more comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Booked a weekend getaway for the family. Being from a busy city it was a lovely retreat from the everyday hussle and bussle. Beautiful grounds with activities for the kids which they really enjoyed. The lodge we stayed in was lovely. We enjoyed it so much we booked to go again soon

Callum and the other staff at the Broome Park Hotel couldn’t have been more helpful. Everyone smiled and was friendly and made a fuss of the kids.The hotel building was just stunning, however we stayed in a lodge outside of the hotel and it was very tired with a leaky tap in the bathroom and broken window latch in the twin room. Maintenance came out and secured the window shut as it was a safety risk with two young children in the room. He also then gave us a fan for the room. The breakfast was delicious and again the staff were fantastic and did my daughter some perfect poached eggs. I’m glad we booked the pool as that was lovely especially when we had it all to ourselves.

Impressive outside! Then the inside, dirty laundry stacked by the spiral stairs, swimming pool facilities terrible, no showers or changing booths, all out of order. Breakfast, poor service, sat at 8am, hot food presented sometime about 820 in a random order! Certainly not worth the price

Beautiful location poorly managed!
The hotel is located in a splendid park, in an ancient residence, it could seem like a fairytale setting, unless it becomes a horror story. The room reserved for us was practically an apartment, with a living room, a small kitchenette and a bedroom, the furniture is not antique but simply old and run-down, like the carpet and wallpaper. Top floor, therefore very hot, with only one fan to try to lower the very high temperature of the day. Arrived at the hotel, at the reception, check-in practices are quite rapid, except that the rooms don't have numbers but names, not always easy to find. As soon as we got to the room for a shower and a quick change to go out for the evening we discovered that there was no hot water. We go downstairs to complain about the problem, there is nobody at the reception and although the phone keeps ringing, nobody comes to answer and nobody seems to care. We wait for an abundant 15 minutes, until I decide to knock on the ajar door of one of the offices, a man in a black suit appears with the name of the structure, apparently a maintenance technician; I point out the problem of the lack of hot water and he says he will report it. We go back to the hotel after a few hours, but after a check, there is still no hot water. The next morning we go down, this time there are two employees at the reception, I point them out again to the problem of the lack of hot water, they say they will fix it. Let's go to breakfast, really bad. Avoid it!

We stayed in the garden view lodges, which are w bedroom cottages with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, washer and dryer. For a family of five, the lodge was a perfect place to stay at. The property was really clean, and everything worked perfectly. The staff were also very helpful and professional. We also enjoyed the optional english breakfast. The property is located in a wooded area about half way way between Dover and Canterbury. Beautiful grounds. There are no shops close by. You definitely need a car.
