Typical high volume busy hotel but there were no problems during our stay and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is locked in by very busy roads - to get to the Asda Store next door is 1.6 miles by road or on foot.

Disappointing

Posted 19-Jul-2017
Pros: Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient
Cons: The hotel looks very tired and is in need of refurbishing, particularly the central garden area which shows obivious signs of complete neglect
Location: Location is good, very close to road links.
Due to the groups using the function rooms it was very noisey

Quiet, comfortable and easily accessible hotel.

Posted 05-May-2017
Pros: It's location and that it had a very nice feel to it. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Slightly warmer water in pool and a jacuzzi. Have more staff over a Bank Holiday especially when a number of functions are all on at the same time.
Location: It's very handy to a main road. We visited nearby Chatham Dockyard and Rochester and Faversham.
The ground floor reception and foyer have many comfortable seating areas. A table with help yourself teas and coffees was a very welcome sight on arrival. The outside courtyard had plenty of tables and seating and there was plenty of parking space. The room was spacious and the beds and bedding were really comfortable. The pool was not quite walk in warm but was nice for a gentle swim. Hot stone beds were very pleasant but quite a long wait to get on as there were only 2 of them. The breakfast had a good choice of food and the full English was very tasty. We had a bar evening meal and the food was delicious. However, we had a long wait and when we raised concerns the matter was dealt with courteously and to our satisfaction.

An excellent 4 star hotel

Posted 17-Apr-2017
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights commencing last Wednesday. We arrived around 13:30 but check in wasn't until 15:00 So we decided to grab some lunch in the bar. The sandwiches were nothing to write home about but they filled a gap. We returned to reception at about 14:15 and shortly after that the very helpful receptionist allowed us to check in early once a room was available. The room was quite spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was glad to see that there was an iron and ironing board in the room as my shirts had creased up in the suit carrier. The shower was really good and the towels were soft and fluffy. We had breakfast included in the Xpedia booking and this did not disappoint. The was fruit, pastries, cereal and cooked breakfast in abundance along with fruit juices, coffee and tea. Overall we had a wonderful stay. All of the staff were courteous and friendly and the hotel is ideally located for exploring the south east corner of the UK. I think we will be back for more visits, and hopefully have time to use the spa and pool next time. Thank you Bridgewood staff for an enjoyable stay.

Review

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: As above
Location: Good for visiting Leeds Castle
The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, the one who stood out as exceptional was Jo in the leisure centre and Sam on reception was happy and helpful. I ordered a sandwich in the evening at the bar and after waiting an hour queried when I could expect to get it I was told in 5 minutes, after 15 minutes more I asked again and the sandwich finally appeared. Clearly your ordering system needs to be overhauled.

Wonderful hotel! Service was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we left. Highly recommend staying there. Everything about it boasted 4 stars. Breakfast was PHENOMENAL. Traditional english style but Pancakes and waffles were also available along with assorted cereals, fresh fruit, superfoods like chia seeds and grapefruit segments. I'm not a fan of traditional English breakfasts so that was a welcomed surprise. We didn't get to use the spa or pool since it was an overnight stay. I'm sure they would also have been exceptional. Will definitely stay there again.

Nicely situated but left a little disappointed

Posted 03-Apr-2017
Pros: Leaving it
Cons: Staff training
Location: nicely situated
Reception staff on arrival were unhelpful, instead of answering very simple questions on the spa they simple told us to go and ask, and we just had to book on the day. This resulted on the 5 women in our party being left disappointed. Food at the comedy evening was at best edible and at breakfast we waited for 15 minutes for trays to be filled then only one of 3 were.

Mostly good

Posted 30-Mar-2017 on Hotels
I've used Bridgewood several times while visiting friends in the area. As always the welcome was friendly, the service good, the room was clean and the housekeeping unobtrusive and efficient. There were one or two minor irritations, however: the on/off control on my shower (in a wet room designed for disabled) was very difficult to operate, especially when wet; the handbasin plug leaked; the bathroom light switch was on the wrong side of the door (no problem for me but could be for a wheelchair user) Breakfast was good, well presented and plentiful BUT instant coffee now served as default???? At £15 per head??? How much does it cost to make a decent cafetiere of ground coffee? Yes, there was ground coffee available but at a surcharge. Not impressive, Bridgewood! Think again. And the awful wailing music in the lounges! To be fair, reception always turned it down when asked, but why is it necessary? I don't want to present a catalogue of moans, because there is plenty to enjoy at Bridgewood. Thanks for a good stay but don't get complacent.
