The hotel was conveniently located for a private meeting, and it was on this basis that we booked our stay.
The initial impression was poor; the main entrance was undergoing and we were forced to use a nearby door which was awkward and difficult to use when transporting large bags. It would have been much easier to use had either one of the two pairs of doors been secured in an open position. Checkout was fairly simple and straightforward, however it later transpired that we were unable to charge anything to the room because we had not undergone an apparently necessary (?) additional pre-authorization process.
After finding our room (the most vague directions were given), we discovered it was cold. The heating was turned off. Turning up the radiator to its maximum resulted in a feeble amount of heat, and the air conditioning unit produced no heat, regardless of it being on the highest setting. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was not functioning and neither was the bathroom fan. The room had a total of two available power outlets, and contained no instructions for using appliances, information about amenities/services on offer or details of fire procedures/escape routes. Tea bags were present but insufficient supplies of milk or sweeteners were on hand. Only one bath towel was provided for two guests.
The room remained uncomfortably cold all night, and it was clear that maintenance was not a priority at this hotel. I could not recommend this establishment to anyone.
