Barclay House is a stylish townhouse apartment set in the heart of Kelso just a few hundred yards from the cobbled square in this most picturesque of market towns.

Perfectly located for short breaks and local events
Originally designed as a seed merchant’s warehouse in the Italianate style around 1865, the impressive period facade now gives way to a smart contemporary interior, perfectly suited to short breaks or longer stays.

Sitting on the first floor, the open plan sitting room and kitchen has a distinctly loft-style feel framed by the original arched windows. The streamlined finish of the kitchen sits perfectly with an overall scheme of modern geometric finishes, rich mahogany coloured flooring and natural textures.

There is a corner modular sofa and the apartment comes with conveniences such as a Smart TV, good Wi-Fi speeds and a bluetooth speaker.

The kitchen benefits from integrated appliances which give the space a sleek overall finish, while mod cons such as the Tassimo coffee machine is sure to give coffee lovers out there a welcome kick-start to their day.

There are two bedrooms (one king size and one twin) and the two shower rooms (one en-suite) will suit both adult parties and families alike.

There is a small utility room with washing and drying facilities for longer stays, but equally convenient for those coming to the area for fishing or other outdoor pursuits such as walking or cycling.

The town’s pubs, shops and restaurants are a mere wander from the doorstep meaning there is always plenty going-on whatever the season. Overall a super apartment in a super location!

The property is accessed from street level and the apartment sits on the first floor with no lift access. There is storage in the ground floor and upper floor access hall which is private and not shared. Suitable for outdoor gear, fishing rods and bikes.

It is important to note that Barclay House is a first floor apartment in the centre of town and as such, there no designated sitting-out space or garden provision. The main living space and bedrooms are front facing towards the street.

There is no designated private parking. It is possible to park in the street for off-loading/up-loading (2 hours maximum). The nearest public car park is the Knowes which sits directly to the rear of the property.

A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Dogs are not permitted at Barclay House.

The beds feature high quality 1000 thread count sheets. Duvets and pillows are microfibre. A hairdryer is supplied in each bedroom. Towels and guest toiletries are provided. An air-conditioning unit is provided in the living area and fans can be provided for the bedrooms.

Wi-Fi is available with good speeds. Mobile signal is generally good with 4G.

Gas central heating throughout which is thermostatically controlled.

It is important to note that this is a town centre apartment.
