Dear Tina, Thank you for your lovely review of Villa Eros. I am so glad you had a lovely holiday and you had a pleasant stay. That Villa Eros is the best villa you have every stayed in, is quite a complement and we take it to heart. While you found the driving in the area challenging, I think you may have been referring to the Kefalonian municipality rural road which starts at the top end of Skala town and winds up the hill by way of a series of switchbacks leading to the village of Old Skala -- which sits at about 1000 feet above sea level -- and also provides access to the neighbouring hillside villages of Pastra and Alimatas. This road has recently been the subject of a major refurbishment project, after several of the Old Skala villa owners including myself, petitioned the Kefalonia municipal government to get the authorities to make needed repairs because the tarmac had been badly damaged by weather erosion. The road repair project took place before the start of this season and involved cutting out big stretches of damaged portions and replacing these areas with solid concrete which will provide longer wear and durability. While the road is still a rural road, it is in good and safe driving condition and for those people who have come to stay in years passed, the current road is a marketable improvement over what it used to be. The actual road Villa Eros resides on is made fully of concrete and in very good condition. It was privately paid for by all the owners of the villas up on the hillside when our villas were built and is thus in very good condition.
