A lovely rural retreat, Villa Ida is surrounded by fields and olive groves. Hidden away on the outskirts of Pessada hamlet, 10 minutes walk away,there is a basic grocery store selling essentials, a handy winery good for wine tastings and selecting the favourite for the holiday, and a simple taverna on the quayside of the port where the ferries from Zakynthos dock. Not a lot happens in Pessada apart from the daily crossings and that's how we like it! The larger village of Spartia is a 5 minute drive away with a bigger selection of restaurants and shops and the sandy beaches of Avithos and Ammes are a 20 - 30 minute drive. North is the capital Argostoli with its main square filled with open-air cafe- bars, gelatto cafes, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
