Great if you want a sauna
Everything started out well; the hotel, which we got for a great price, looked wonderful upon entry and staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed our room for a few hours and then prepared for sleep, noting that the room was a bit warm. We opened the window the two inches allowed, but it was very noisy outside, so opted to turn on the air conditioning. Soon, we realized that despite it being on cool and set to 18C, the unit was pouring out hot air. We turned it off, and called the front desk only to be told that the air conditioner wouldn't work because it's cold out and of course the heat would come on instead. Sounds reasonable, right?!? Finally, a hotel staff member came upstairs at 1am to unlock our window so it would open more than two inches and we had a HORRIBLE sleep with the noise (think trains) and smoke coming in from the outside. When we left the next morning, staff were very unsympathetic and refused to even apologize for the situation. Will never stay in a Novotel again . . .
