"Second time visiting. We visiting on easter before. They've added some small appreciated upgrades. The road is a little rocky but its not far from the main road. Food at the nearby bar is fantastic. The views from the house are great. The hosts are the best, super friendly and communicate well. I have no complaints. Its a little hard for my elderly mom to get up and down the stairs but once on the 2nd floor. Its no issue for her. Overall, this is my favorite rental. From location, views and hosts."

"This was a weekend get away for me and my adult sons. I had spent a lot of time in WV (mostly caving) when I was in my 20's like them and love the area. We had a wonderful time and the Bear Valley Cabin was our home away from home. The house had everything we needed including a grill for our foil packs and steaks, a fire pit to sit around at night as well as the chairs with oil lamp to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds in the morning and evening. The beds and furniture were very clean and comfortable. I love to cook and I had everything I needed in the kitchen."

"Would stay at this hotel again. Room was modern and spacious. Nice big TV in room! Don’t agree with the 3.00 a night emergency services fee that they charge. Didn’t know about that until check in. Free breakfast was great! Loved the scrambled eggs with cheese in them. Variety breakfast items was nice too. "

"Excellent stay at the River House Lodge. Our host Tim was a very accommodating and gracious host. He went out of his way to show us the local attractions and teach us the history of this area. The mountains, and river were beautiful! The lodge itself was charming with many antiques. We'd like to return in the Fall. Tim&Stefanie"
