The beach is incredible with calm shallow water which is perfect for young children. The breakfast was vast and catered for everyone including an omelette bar which my husband loved."

"Fantastic Modern Hotel with Unbeatable Value! The Room: Big, clean, and modern. If you book the Deluxe Ocean View, you can walk straight from your room to the beach. Dining & Service: Friendly staff and delicious food with a great variety of Continental and Sri Lankan dishes. Amenities: Lots to do on-site! There is a great spa (highly recommend the head massage), games room, badminton court, beach volleyball, and bike rentals. The Beach & Activities: The water was perfectly warm in July. The immediate beach has a lot of coral, but just to the left of the property is a gorgeous, sandy beach perfect for swimming. There are also plenty of water sports nearby (jet ski, banana boats, snorkeling, diving). The Verdict: I definitely recommend Amaya over the neighboring hotels. Great stay!"

Go for an early walk on the beach and watch the local fisherman, interesting. "
