The Chania Hotel Crete, Vignette Collection by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay at the Chania Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary! The hotel is impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located—everything you could want for a stay in Chania.
But what truly set this experience apart was the incredible staff, especially Demos. From start to finish, Demos went above and beyond in every way imaginable—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. He continuously anticipated our needs and made sure our stay was perfect. His dedication and warmth made us feel like we were staying with family rather than at a hotel.
We also had amazing interactions with Nadia from the breakfast team, who was kind and welcoming, and Maximus at the front desk, who was always helpful and professional.
If you want a hotel where you feel truly cared for, in a pristine and convenient location, Chania Hotel is it—and Demos makes it unforgettable!"
"One of the best hotels I stayed at in Europe. Located right next to the beach and shops. Very clean. Staff is super friendly and fast for any service request. Food was delicious. I’ll be coming back many times over "
"A great hotel, with lots of activities and entertainment for kids both big and small.
The food options are great, and as a vegan I had a number of options every meal which is different to usual holiday locations.
The new and old buildings mean there's plenty of space for everyone and you can always find a sunbed"
"New property in Chania … exceptional facility and staff … superb FIVE star experience
Enjoyed the experience immensely, even though they had been open for only a few months … they delivered an exceptional experience. We had the junior suite with a swimming pool, spacious and elegant. You almost don’t want to leave your room. Manos, the operations manager was warm, caring and welcoming. The facilities: 3 swimming pools with excellent seating, gym: state of the art, and multiple restaurants were exceptional. Thank you Marriott Chania"
"Very helpful staff, ceru clean, recently refurbished room and hotel, excellent location if you re not driving can walk anywhere in chania and easy access to the beach. If you re driving parking can be a nightmare."
The most popular time to visit Kalathas is during the summer months, particularly July. With average temperatures reaching a pleasant 30°C, this is the ideal season for basking in the sun on the beautiful beaches or enjoying various outdoor activities like swimming and water sports.
During the peak season, from June to August, Kalathas comes alive with tourists eager to soak up the sun and experience the vibrant local culture. The warm weather and clear skies provide the great backdrop for exploring charming coastal paths and indulging in fresh seafood at waterfront tavernas. This bustling atmosphere is especially appealing for those who appreciate a lively social scene and the chance to connect with fellow travellers.
For those seeking a quieter experience, consider visiting in late September. The weather remains pleasantly warm, often still around 25°C, but crowds begin to thin out, allowing for a more relaxed exploration of the area. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the local attractions without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
