We just needed a place to rest after a full day of exploring this side of Kona and this fit the bill! Clean rooms, air conditioning. Very nice facility, the reception area always had icy cold water flavored with fresh fruits. Staff was always pleasant and accommodating.
We where a family of in two units and we had a wonderful time. It is a pleasent hotel nothing fancy, but you feel at home and it is close to stores and restaurants. The staff was wonderfu always had a smile and provide us with all we requested (supplies). The rwo rude ladies mentioned in a review , where extremely nice and courtieous and always had a smile. Who ever wrote that review was probably what now in days people call HATERS unhappy people. I would definitly recomend The Kona Billfisher .Thank you to everyone
My first time in Hawaii and it was amazing! So glad that I stayed at this hotel. It had its own little beach as well it is right on the main downtown strip of all of the local shops and restaurants. Also did the BodyGlove snorkeling and they launched right off of the pier at the hotel. So it was nice to just walk out of the back of the hotel and its right there. Also did the luau at the hotel and it was awesome even though they had to move it indoors because of the weather. Absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.
Slightly dated, and a little shabby but comfortable enough. The air-conditioner was old and sounded like a jet taking off, consequently we had to turn it off to sleep and didn't because it was very hot!
We loved the 14 days there. The pool and BBQ amenities are great and kept very clean. The cleaning service every four days was good and the in apt washer drier really made it comfortable to stay on top of the kids clothes.

Kailua-Kona is the epicenter of shopping and recreation on Hawaii’s western shore. Big-game fishers delight off its waters, while shoppers reel in deals along Alii Drive. The Kailua-Kona area is a hiker’s paradise because many of its best beaches are accessible only by foot. Inland, the scent of coffee permeates the air as plantations harvest precious Kona beans. Nearby coffee farms open for tours.
