For such a cheap price, this was an amazing place to stay at! The 24 hour kitchen was large and useful, there were plenty of common areas, the hot tub was clean, and the shower stalls were big! I would definitely Dusky Lodge to a friend!

Not very clean windows dirty and kitchen floor and tables not very clean needs more cleaning cloths the floor in the unit was very sticky for the price i would have expected it to be better

Affordable accomodation not too far from the town centre. Beds are obviously old and need an upgrade as they are dipping, but not unexpected for budget accomodation

Spacious room with ensuite, painful because it was upstairs which I hadn’t realised, carrying all our bags up was tricky. Simple things like enough tea towels in the kitchen and cloths for the bench’s would’ve made a difference. Pool and spa were good but very busy. Door to bathroom kept opening by itself (sliding). Staff didn’t give wifi password or explain there were problems until prompted.

Bathroom didnt look like it had been cleaned, shower still had watermarks like it hadnt been cleaned. If you want guests to take sheets off beds on departure, you need to make sure whats under them is at least clean, not clumps of hair and stains all over protector. If its that stained you need to replace as not a good look

The water was hot in the shower - very much appreciated. We found getting an e-mail at 5.00pm on the day of arrival with details wasn't really reassuring as to whether or not we still had a room for the night! Also the instructions on the sheet could afford to be more specific so that guests can be as helpful as possible - e.g. we were asked to strip the bed and put the sheets in the foyer - no mention of the towels. Only after we'd returned to key to the box did we discover we should have also brought the towels down. As well the cleanliness needed to be improved. The shower was very dirty around the edges of the base. It would be good to see fans in the showers - or some kind of shower hood to keep the steam in the area.

Great, highly recommended!
My stuff was perfect, i wish I stay longer. Cheap price and really nice stay. Bbq, pool, quiet, nice staff. At the beginning when I arrived with the bus, i thought omg... this is to far from in town.. but not at all. easy walking to restaurants and beach and grocery. Big mentionne to Greta and Sean who really make a difference, they where great, really helful, always really happy to assist with all the question or needed. It male a big difference on your stay when poeple are happy to help you. You can see that the team who work at Dusgy are happy. (i stay to other hostel that unfortunately.. staff make you feel that you disturbed them when you ask a questions, or even they dont help at all..) what is NOT THE CASE WITH THIS PLACE. They are nice and reallly really FRIEMDLY AND HELPFULL. Thank you ! The pool and the bbq is great, i wish that we can use the big kitchen but was almost always reserve for group. But notthing else to say about this hostel is great. Stay longer there guys and emjoy your time.

The rooms were neat and the beds comfortable. The showers were fine. The kitchen was great with plenty of room for cooking. Everything necessary for cooking was available.

On the main hwy so rooms adjacent noisy early mornings with trucks etc. Had a school group staying and they warned me but noise was hideous. Had to use earplugs and music for 3hrs till they all went to bed. I left early morn. Room was fine had a TV.

The manager was really rude to my kids going in to pool area when there was no sign or anything to say pool was closed so we assumed it was open.. the bunks didn’t have sides and were dangerous even for adults as the floor was quite hard below.. the double bed was uncomfortable and old, and was getting bitten in it..

Lovely look and funky art, i expext due to covid there were not alot of tourists so it wqs reasonably quiet and spacious . Im sure if it was fully boocked there may be less room but i imagine for a traveller alot of fun would be had , spa was nice pool was closed probably too cold anyway nice balcony and eating areas

Me and my partner took my 10yr old son there. Was a bonus with the heated swimming pool and spa. Problem being both were cold and unusable. Had to check in late as room still hadnt been cleaned. Sorry but wont be going there again

Hey Anonymous, thank you for your review and we apologise for your stay that was not up to scratch. We'll put our hands up and agree that the pool was not warm enough last Friday when you stayed, however, given the recent cold snap and the amount of guests using our facilities, that was inexorable. Additionally, we had to drain, clean and refill our entire spa due to an in-pool accident, hence why it was closed. This was all communicated to you before check in. I'm unsure how "unusable" our swimming pool is as I checked in with your family whilst you were physically in the pool and swimming with your son. We are sorry you had to wait for your room when you arrived a couple of hours early before the standard check in time of 2 pm. We gave your family early access to our facilities whilst you waited and our cleaning team work tirelessly to ensure that all required rooms are cleaned on time and your room was ready by the official check in time of 2pm. Regardless, thank you for your stay, we hope to see you back and arriving only after the scheduled check in time advertised.
